We had a very disappointing and infuriating experience at bb.q Lincoln Park. If I could, I would give it 0 stars. Mind you, we have been to multiple locations and have ordered from this location as well multiple times as we like this franchise.
We ordered 4 different types of chicken for take out. When we picked up the order we asked the employee in the front, confirming if all the items that we ordered were in the bag. To add, we made sure to double check because they have forgotten a part of our order in the past. We were assured that everything was in the bag. About 10 minutes later, right about when we came back home with our order, we received a call from the restaurant saying that we had a missing item. We had to turn our car around to go back to pick up the missing item. Why did they tell us everything was in the bag without even checking? Had they double checked and done their job correctly this wouldn't have happened.
To add on, we ordered the honey garlic flavor but the "honey" garlic did not have enough honey flavor and almost tasted closer to the soy garlic sauce. Again, we have ordered from here before as well as other locations so we know what the honey garlic is supposed to taste like. It was overall a disappointing and annoying experience. I rather go to a different location owned by a...
Read moreStill on my quest to try all the k-fried chicken, bb.q never fails. This place is or was the number 1 kfc chain in Korea. I don’t know current rankings at this time. You may recognize the brand from k dramas like Goblin and Crash Landing into You. So if you want to live out your Kdrama dreams get chicken from here because of all the cameos but also because it’s very very good. Note that there are several locations in the Chicagoland area and surrounding suburbs. You will find that the flavor offerings are different. The tried and true golden original will never fail and is available at all locations. I’ve only ever had delivery from the Fullerton location but it arrives still hot and crispy. Fries are generous. Chicken is juicy and crispy and definitely golden and delicious. You can order a side of sauce for dipping. I like the hot spicy. You can also order a whole chicken half original and half spicy or half secret sauce. Note that there is more sauce variety on the boneless offerings for this location only. Their Niles outpost has an expanded whole chicken menu. But for sauce the soy garlic is always good as is the ganjeong. My brother and I had the spicy in Austin, Texas and it’s fiery...
Read moreVery good but not better than Crisp. If you enjoy a panko-like crunch (meaning extra batter), than you will love it. However, I find that Crisp (another Korean Fried Chicken joint, albeit a locally owned shop, not a chain) has a lighter coating while maintaining the crunch and juiciness which makes it the winner in my book. The wings are bigger too. Comparisons aside, it is a solid fried chicken with some good sauces (sweet soy garlic, Gangnam style) and questionable ones (Galbi has an off-taste which is supposed to be a “off the grill taste” emits a plastic-chemical nuance). I wish you could get any of the sauces on the side or at least try them first. On the next visit will be the cheesy; it looks fantastic. Sweet potato fries are done to perfection, if the packaged side of marinara it comes with throws one off (no ketchup?). Needs a good dry seasoning. Crew is helpful and friendly. You can also order boba from next door with...
