Had a great time at the movie (Shoplifters) but had a terrible experience with staff. A couple people went into the video store which was allegedly closed but had an open door, and they were just checking out the collection. Whoever was working that night saw what they were doing, started swearing at them (called one a “fucking idiot”) and shoved everyone out, slamming the door on the way. I understand that they shouldn’t have been there, but they didn’t cause any harm in the end and I don’t think I’ve ever encountered a meaner...

One of the best places for indy and obscure videos . Some people even rent them overseas. The in house movie screenings are often top notch, worthwhile and unlike Landmark none of the films that are playing there are franchise films being shown in suburban malls. They once played a film there for me when I was the only one who showed. The staff are unusually knowledgeable and even the popcorn people talk like film historians. I like Facets, a great selection of of rare and OOP films. You can rent VHS and PAL even. I liked it enough that when I moved from Chicago I kept my membership so I can have films shipped to me downstate. Customer service leaves something to be desired, though.
