it was rainy and it was cold but my boyfriend wanted ramen so I'm like ok . I was already irritated I was wet so my mood was low . We walked in and was greeted by the staff they said something I don't know but then the guy sat us and the tables was tight so I was even more irritated so mind you I'm thirsty and ready to get a drink the guy brung water I was a bit thrown off because he brung the pitcher and sat the water down then walked off never asked me if I wanted to order or anything clearly we seen the menu on the window when we was outside. So he sat us at a tight table I'm cold I don't know who he is he just walked off so at this point I'm ready to leave .
Another server came to the table and he turned the whole experience around . He introduced himself and his other Co workers with such an energy . So now I finally know a name he said his name was Leo so I'm thinking why did it take him to say the other guys name instead of the other guy . Leo asked us did we want drinks I really didn't want a cold beverage but the way he described the tea I had to buy one and it was delicious . He also suggested the dumpling once again I wasn't expecting to get that but he made it sound like it was the best thing ever and yes it was . He also broke down the bowls to us but Im not a noodle fan
He suggested that I try the beef over rice I don't remember the name and he suggested to my boyfriend a pork premium bowl . My boyfriend was very impressed by how descriptive he was about that particular bowl so he bought it and bought the drink he recommended. The dish was spot on to my likings and so was my boyfriends it was like he knew our tongues . Overall the food was amazing the service from our server was phenomenal and I am planning on coming back and I want the exact same server . Leo was so good we had to see a manager after he told us he was new my boyfriend had to speak on it he wouldn't leave until we said something . You impress my boyfriend and treated me great even though I was crabby you get my business will come back if...

Read moreI was finally able to try the Shoyu Prime Ramen that comes with filet mignon and it DID NOT DISAPPOINT
They have multiple locations across Chicago, New York (east village), and Madison Wisconsin. This spot is convenient and easy to park (with meters around) or right next to Belmont station
🥩🍜The Shoyu Prime was so good I was truly thinking I could eat it everyday. Nice and light, comes with medium rare filet mignon, poached egg, bamboo, and scallions all in a light and umami Shoyu broth. I ordered the noodles chewier as usual
🐙NEW APPETIZER ALERT! baby octopus salad that comes with a seaweed salad. The octopus is marinated in a sweet soy, nice and crunchy & great balance of flavors (just like it would be in Japan)
🐷🐚🐮🍜TONKOTSU PREMIUM, this is their "ultimate bowl" as @stringsramen would say. Lots of toppings: pork cubes, tenderloin, spicy ground pork, little clams, filet mignon, bean sprouts, marinated soft egg 🥚 . This is my usual order in ramen spots but theirs is really different with a slightly sweeter broth + mix of meats & seafood.
🥫🌱Don't forget, the tonkotsu also comes with a douban sauce 豆瓣醬 and black bean sauce. Making it extra tasty with more depth beyond the pork bones.
🌶️🌶️You can always add their hell chill sauce containing Tian Jing, Szechuan and Thai Chilis
Last but not least, you need a refreshing drink! I wanted to try their Japanese Cider. Comes in both a plum wine 🍷 flavor and yuzu 🍊 flavor. This comes in a can, like a lightly sweet soda (.. a tenth sweet vs cream soda/sprite) without alcohol.
The yuzu flavor was Bomb 💣 you have to try it.
🍡I also usually order their dessert, the sasa dango. A rice cake filled with red bean paste, wrapped in bamboo leaves. My favorite! I was just super full
