I have never considered myself a fit person. Couldn't do a push up, couldn't really lift anything, and frankly, CrossFit intimidated the life out of me. I would watch these workout videos from different boxes online, and I would have NEVER, EVER, thought that I could even survive 5 minutes in there. Where do you start right? But then CFLKW had this awesome 6 week challenge (which they are running again), during which you would get a chance to learn CrossFit, learn proper nutrition, and slowly build up to a better, stronger, leaner, meaner you!
I jumped on that faster than anything. I was scared! After the first session with my new coach, I knew I was in good hands. And that's the deal here. The trainers are amazing! They will scale the workouts based on what you can and can't do, while pushing just enough to help you evolve. The people here are supportive, encouraging, and you will find a crew you want to run with, a crew you are going to miss like crazy, when you don't make it to the gym. Read moreHands down the most challenging and fun workouts I've done in my lifetime. (I've worked-out since high school at varying levels.) I began CF 2+ years ago and immediately felt connected and challenged by this level of intensity. I've never been this strong or this in-shape, cardio-wise. Ever. I dropped 10#, transformed my body from more fat to more muscle and I feel amazing! (Truth be told, I'm not very disciplined with my food or the changes could be even more exciting.)
I love the beautiful CF LKW facility, it's small and intimate and I'm beginning to get familiar with other members. Tom, the owner, and his team go above and beyond to ensure everyone is using safe techniques and sturdy equipment. And we have socials, group events and activities, etc. There's an opportunity to make friends (and competitors) with other fitness-minded people every day.
