It's your standard issue average immigrant Italian. Nothing special. Feels like someone thought they could cook Italian food and started a restaurant. The outside of the building is falling apart. The inside of the building is not much better. Which makes the think the kitchen is probably on the edge of "just clean enough".
The AC vents about the bar/check-out stand should have been reason enough to walk out. It's covered in dust and dirt. When I pointed it out the woman didn't seem like it was such a big deal which is sad.
The fact that they come in every day and see this and no one cleans it tells me there is probably green slim in the ice maker and all kinds of other health issues.
The wine rack is being held up by the paper ceiling tiles and does not seem to be secured by anything that will hold it. One day that is coming down and going to hurt someone.
Looking around the restaurant the food looked pretty boring. What I ordered to go was OK, but nothing to write home about. The marinara sauce was not fresh or had been on a burner all day since it was reduced down to almost a paste. Too many spices in it to be a tomato sauce. Less is better in some cases.
The fact that 3 of the 4 photos makes the place look like a dump should tell you something.
The place needs help and I won't be going back. I guess the lake people like it but it's not good. Olive Garden would be this place in a taste test and...
Read moreThe atmosphere is dirty. The decor is dusty. The ceiling is falling apart and stained. That is a health and safety violation. The smell is like a musty animal .I have no idea how anyone could sit inside and eat their meal smelling that odor. I cannot imagine working 8 hours a day breathing that in. I was glad I called in my order. The lady that took my order had to put me on hold to answer my question about the breakfast specials. If your staff is not familiar with your specials then a better communication is needed between employer and staff .When my order was handed to me I began to check my bags to ensure all items were in the bag. Some items were stapled shut so it took me a few minutes. The staff was looking at me taking my items out to open and check as I was inconveniencing them. Your policy clearly states on the counter to check to make sure all items are present prior to leaving. The packaging on to go orders needs to be improved and it would not take so long for a customer to check their order. The bacon was soggy. The grits had way too much 🧈 butter. The butter was separated from the grits it appeared to be grease all around. The homestyle potatoes were over seasoned and I barely could taste the potatoes. I am very disappointed and will not go back. Please employees make sure you complain about that ceiling and the ventilation because you are the ones constantly...
Read moreI was very surprised by this restaurant when I went. I stopped by in the middle of a really bad storm, but my wife wanted "cheese pizza and spaghetti" so i had no choice but to go. They had really good ratings, so I decided to give them a try.
The restaurant is small, but it has a very southern feel to it that I appreciated. It seems like a favorite with the locals, and I heard country music and thick, friendly accents as soon as I walked in. There were a nice number of people there, with people coming to pick up as I came to get my order.
The food was exactly as we asked. Cheese Pizza and Spaghetti. My wife absolutely loved it. I like a little more "razzle dazzle" with my food, like more ingredients, but they did nail the cheese pizza and spaghetti. The ingredients didn't taste cheap, the noodles were cooked well, and the pizza was also made well.
My server was very friendly and polite, and she smiled the entire time she helped me. Being from California, this was one of the few times I really experienced the stereotypical "southern charm" I used to hear about.
I am honestly very interested in going back and trying more of the menu items. My wife and son enjoyed the food enough for me to make...
