My husband and I have lived here for six years now and overall, our experience has been positive. I will say that there are ups and downs and management has changed many times, in addition to the complexās policies and rules. For example, when we first moved here the pool was open 24/7/365 and that was one of my MAJOR selling points. Iām very sad to have seen that go when other communities like WaterStone in Fort Mill still offer that. In addition, the last two years we were promised a certain date for opening pool day, and things were very late each time due to non occurring, or failed inspections (ie. something as stupid as a broken water fountain that no one uses shut down the whole pool, ā¦.okay thanks DHEC š.) A few years back we were provided with wristbands that were to be worn for all amenities and were only allowed two guests per household in the grill and pool area which now means that my mom, dad, and sister; OR my best friend and her 2 [pretty common number of] kids could never all come hang out at the same timeā¦. I donāt like the āsomeone ruined it for all of youā trend that Iāve noticedā¦. Nobody can figure out a way to reprimand specific individuals, therefore we all suffer, but they do the best they can I guess. Thank goodness the white in-water tanning chairs and cabanas are still there at leastā¦. However, I do wish we had a playground now that Iāve had a baby. Thereās plenty of room near the random long driveway/ 2nd entrance for one. Iām pretty sure the builder/ original owner intended to add additional units but then sold out to someone who now sold out to Southwood Realty. The doggies have a great park but what about the kids? Alas, the clubhouse area is very nice and we have hosted many events there ( birthdays, baby showers, etc.) they have pool tables and are always stocked with complementary coffee and tea. Thereās a computer lab as well as streaming apps on the TV. Every year rent has gone up $50 which is horrible, but a lot of new activities and games have been introduced recently too, in order to help increase community involvement and offer tenants a chance TO WIN MONEY off rent, in addition to other prizes, such as restaurant gift cards so that has been fun. Thereās a food truck every Friday now as well. The gym is spacious and clean and the units are modern, with open floor plans and very cozy/comfortable with LARGE patios ( the Lexington is the best I think). The current office employees are wonderful too. The last event was held very early and we missed it, but after talking to the ladies at the front desk, they still provided us with some special treats. DJ and Jacob are the current maintenance men that have helped with random issues and they are great -very polite and efficient and itās always a pleasure to have their help. I hope they stick around since every other year, our air-conditioning goes out or freezes over ( promptly fixed or replaced by said men). We have seen many people come and go, had the occasional loud neighbor, but honestly I will say, this is a very safe, well maintained ( as of recent) and family...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreKody was very sweet and accommodating. He was patient during the tour process and handled working with multiple visitors on his own. He made the tour worth while, loved his personality and smile lol! The leasing office staff was wonderful and very welcoming! Currently parts of the complex are still under construction, so more apartments should open up soon. What sold me on this place besides the kitchen? How affordable it was! There are plenty of apartments that have all the basic upgraded features most are looking for, but with a hefty price tag, and then theres a waiting list? Like why? rolls eyes But not here. You basically get your monies worth! Another thing is, the layout for a one bedroom is huge and it has brand new EVERYTHING along with updated features. All I'm saying is don't miss out on the wonderful deals they have going on right now (I'm not going to steal anyones thunder by telling you on here lol :-) The location isn't bad either. There's a Walmart less than 5 mins from you, plenty of places to stop and dine (I approve this message, coming from a woman that loves to indulge in food ^_^), a fitness center near by if you don't want to use the one located on property, and let's not forget the beautiful view of Lake Wylie that's just mins away if you wanted to take a stroll (or an outdoors type of person, or hopeless romantic that wants to take a midnight stroll, idk pick your poison). I will say these apartments are VERY spacious! The one bedroom came with a full laundry room, the master bedroom is huge, along with the walk-in closet. There are ceiling fans in the places that count (the bedroom, and living room), the bathroom has plenty of counter space as well and more than enough drawers to accommodate anyone. I really fell in love with the kitchen though. The pantry is huge, beautiful white cabinetry with plenty of storage space, but the main thing that got me was the kitchen island. I LOVE COOKING, so having counter space is a must for me. There is more than enough space to make large dinners for the Holidays and still have two people seated at the island. Hardwood floors throughout, expect the bedroom and bathroom, but let me stop spoiling everything, go see for yourself! I'll upload photos and a video later on. Happy Hunting :-)
Another thing, if your big on having internet, just note that Comporium is the only provider you can bundle with. I will say this, I thought it would have been a deal breaker at first hearing that news but it wasn't. Why? I was used to using AT&T mainly because I thought the pricing was hard to beat. We'll once I called and asked the rep that's referred for this location, I wasn't upset at all. Comporium turned out to not only be cheaper but also less of a headache to deal with during installation. I was over 20mins late to meet with the rep that was sent out to install but he still waited patiently for me and even called to inform me he was there and had no issue waiting. Wonderful customer service...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIām not usually one to do this, but I donāt feel like our concerns are being met and our living situation is unsafe. We have been back and forth with maintenance and management at our complex, Lodges at Lake Wylie, and are now requesting to end our lease within 30-60 days. This request, and our requests for the proper treatment of MOLD to be completed, have been seemingly dismissed and invalidated by the property manager. These photos were taken yesterday. Theyāre photos of the most RECENT mold growth within our apartment. Nearly every vent within this unit has molded at some time during the last 2 months. Maintenance has been spraying a mildew growth inhibitor on these vents, and then spray painting over them. The mold has gotten so out of hand, that it has taken over our linen closet. We have had to throw away many of our belongings because they are caked in fuzzy mold. The most recent vent to be effected was in our young daughterās closet, and it actually began spreading down the walls of the closet and reaching toward her clothing. We have all had respiratory issues within the last 3 months, that are seemingly worse inside the unit. The property manager states that our apartment is growing mold because we ālive by the lake.ā This is untrue. Thereās most likely a leak in the HVAC system or in the wall that is going untreated. It has gotten so bad, we are no longer allowing our child to sleep in the home - as we want to avoid exposure for her as much as possible. A report has been filed with the BBB, and the importance of our health and safety has been reiterated numerous times to property management by myself and by others. At this point, I am at a loss on how to move forward. And thus I am sharing this here, in the hopes it gains the attention of others in our community, and perhaps our...
