Updated: If you're ordering through the drive-through, the service is much better: timely, friendly, and detail-oriented service. However, today my husband, friend and I came inside to order and sit around. After at least 20 minutes of sitting around, my husband and I received our order. My friend waited for half an hour and had to ask about her order, to which the barista replied, "We forgot". My friend reordered her drink and received it within a couple minutes, which demonstrates the capability of making drinks quickly. Unfortunately, there seems to be a lack in the will to serve customers quickly and happily at this location. Where has the quality gone?
Sadly, I cannot give this location a better score today. After waiting for my order for over 15 minutes, I went up to the counter to inquire. The baristas did not even acknowledge my presence. I, finally, got their attention and told them that I had not received my drink. They asked what I'd ordered and after I stated my drink order, one of the baristas said that she had put my order in the wrong location. She retrieved the drink, but it had not been made to my specifications. I, once again, had to get their attention, as they had quickly moved on without seeing to making things right. After I told them that my order was not made correctly, one barista told me, "The coffee based frappe does not come with whipped cream". I told her that I had ordered whipped cream on mine, as is my prerogative, which was clearly typed on the sticker. This same barista, again, moved on and did not correct the drink. The other barista finally corrected my order, gave me the drink, which had, at that point, been sitting there for nearly 20 minutes. I am not pleased with this kind of service. Read moreI've been going to this location now for about 2 years and a few times a week within that 2 years. I think it's now I finally say something. I absolutely love all the workers here and I absolutely love the inside of this location. The biggest issue I have with this specific location is how absolutely slow they are. I'm not sure if it's because they may need more machines for the volume of customers that they have? But I've noticed that this location is significantly slower with getting orders pushed out than any other location I've ever been to. I used to go to the Starbucks off of Tryon and near Whitehall Park everyday a few years ago and I would always get my order within 5 to 8 minutes. I will literally sit in this drive-thru line at this location in Lake Wylie for 30 or more minutes. At one point in time when I went inside to order while I was studying one day it took an hour to get my order out. I had to actually cancel my order. I have noticed whenever I do mobile orders it seems to be a little bit more swift. I don't know if there's an efficiency issue in the way that they make their coffees or how they make them or if they just simply need more espresso machines to help them pump out more but there's definitely some sort of time delay issue with this location compared to any...

My wife inadvertently ordered the wrong drink unbeknownst to me (chose coffee base instead of cream), and when I tasted coffee I went back inside to inform them it was meant to be cream based. The barista looked at the label and said "it was made right, and we don't even have the item as a cream base anymore, sorry." and then just walked away. I chose to just leave instead of pushing, and checked the menu in my car and discovered that the item is, in fact, still there, so she just bold faced lied to me. As much as the drinks cost you'd think it wouldn't be a big deal to remake it even WITH us ordering the wrong item, but she chose to essentially tell me to go away and lied to me in the process. As someone who has worked in a customer facing industry for over two decades, I can honestly say that was some of the worst customer service I've experienced, and I will never again patron this location.
