I stopped by this food truck before taking my wife to the airport, then proceeded to order, after I ordered the owner looks at me and asked If by any chance I was military and I said yes and then he goes awesome I will give you a military discount. Then the owner says guess what and I say what and he said he had received his American Citizenship today and the look on his face was priceless! He was so happy and I thought to myself this man is a blessing to meet. You could tell that he had worked very hard for his citizenship and that he was so happy to be where he was working on a food truck. He then started talking about himself and his experiences with the Army and his buddies that supported him getting his citizenship. I learned a lot about this man in such a short amount of time. He took customer service to a whole new level and showed so much passion. I will now consider you a friend and my go to place to eat when I am nearby Austin. I ended up talking to the owner and his buddies for a good hour before I realized my wife and I needed to head the airport. That was the happiest I've ever left from a restraunt on top of that his food is to good to...
Read moreI wish there was a way to give 10 Stars. I have eaten here 20-30 times over the last year or so.
I was in the Middle East for work and I experienced Falafel and Kabob in the region where those dishes were born.
I will tell you that all of the food is amazing, but the Falafel is LITERALLY a Teleportation machine that brings you right to the heart of the middle east. I had the pleasure of sitting down with the owner, who generously put the secret "yellow sauce" on my Falafel wrap, and we both had a moment where the smell of the food combined with the background noise of our great city of Austin sent us back around the globe for just a few minutes!!!
The secret sauce isn't always on hand, but ask just in case.
Hands down, the BEST Falafel in the United States. I've been everywhere between Alaska and Florida, and no where has better Falafel. Not Atlanta, Not Michigan, Not New York, Not California. Austin, TX, Period.
(PS, Pro Tip: Combine Congress Avenue Kayak adventures with a stroll north on the Waller Creek Green Belt Trail to end your day on the water with some...
Read moreWe went a large group (6 adults and 2 small kids) to Sosa on June 30th. There was a group of 6 people in front of us, and they almost bought out all the falafel balls. Our group ordered falafel wraps, hummus and pita, falafel balls, and shawarma wraps. The food was delicious! The owner, Haider (I hope that is spelled correctly) was super friendly.
The chicken shawarma was flavorful, cooked perfectly, and warm. The white sauce he makes is the perfect compliment to spicy sauce. The falafel balls were crispy on the outside, and tender on the inside. They were also very flavorful. The guests from out of town (from the Bay area) said these were some of the most tasty falafel they'd ever tried.
After we received our orders, he continued to work away inside and gave our group and the other group some foods to try. The pickles that we tried were amazing. My oldest son, who doesn't really like pickles tasted them, and asked for more!
We will definitely be back to get more...
