Okay so I’ll start by saying this place has SO much potential. Lots of land, big space inside, great place and can be relaxing, and nice owners. Pickle ball courts and outdoor space for live music and little playground. BUT, this place just doesn’t seem ready yet and needs to make improvements before it’s really ready for more people to come and for me to come back. We have been here twice to give it a chance.
If you enjoy watching football or sports games and you’re a parent, it’s not a good spot. The little old playscape is very far away from the inside area, and they do not have any TVs outside, at least as of yet, so if you have a kid and intend to play with them outside or in the plays area while also watching sports or football, you cannot, as all of their TVs are inside the venue. I think this is such a missed opportunity for them because as a parent who also loves sports and football who has a toddler, this place has tons of great outside space but it isn’t being utilized as there are no TVs outside. Huge bummer.
It doesn’t seem like the owners really understand American sports, even though they appear to be “inviting people to come.” As said We have been here several times for NFL Sunday or longhorn games, and they do not have enough tables inside, so not have nearly enough staff or bartenders, and they only have ONE food runner. We were ordering simple things like fries or a beer, and it would take over a half hour to get to our table or longer, and sometimes we would even have to go up to the front to remind them that we had ordered something. The line to order a drink or fo is super long, and again, it’s only 1 or 2 workers. No one wants to wait in a long line when you’re trying to watch a game every time you’re ordering a drink, or if you’re at a table, it sucks to have drinks or food take so long. They can not handle a “game day” like a longhorns game or a NFL game - not nearly enough staff or tables, and again, all the space outside where they could be putting tables is empty with no TVs so it’s wasted. When we finally receive our food items 30-40 minutes wait each time they were often undercooked or cold.
Pros: the few people that own it seem really niche and Great, and they do try to accommodate and try hard.
Moral of the story: this place has great potential, but until they step up their game a little more and make these improvements that I think should be pretty simple (more staff, TVs outside) I don’t think we...
Read moreA group of us from work went here for a simple lunch. Things were slow but OK overall. I had to set up and pay with apple pay (didn't see another way) and when we processed the payment I did not see anywhere for a tip. My spouse and other family used to be in food service so I know the importance of leaving a tip when service is good. As we left, I realized I did not leave anything, but as I said, was pretty slow so didn't worry too much about it. After leaving, I also realized I did not get a receipt. Contacted the owner to get a receipt. He did send but once I received it, there was a $39 tip added to the bill which I know I did not add. You can see the exchange of information after he sent the copy of the bill. He seemed more concerned with saying I had forgotten or had done something wrong than being concerned that someone had added a tip. I did call him, but gave up after he wouldn't let me get a word in edgewise and after his last text message which I took as threatening. Never going there again.
In response to the owner's inaccurate assertions in his post, I added the picture showing the approved transaction I made and the resulting bill I received after I left which shows the addition of the tip which I did not authorize. Again, never saw a place to add a tip at all, so don't know why the first assertion is that I must have done and forgotten it when I never saw a place to leave one. It isn't about the money as my company paid for the event, but rather the fact that I didn't authorize or input a discretionary tip and do not know how it got...
Read moreWent here for the first time tonight with my wife and had a couple of beers. We were impressed with how nice the space was. It wasn't very crowded and there were lots of tables and seating available. It is an outdoor bar with a large pavilion in the center that has lots of TV's with sports playing non-stop.
The pickle all courts are free and first come first served. There were other games set out around the yard and board games in the pavilion area. There was also love music the night that we went. We did not try the food but there was a food truck that you could order from with delivery to your table.
We were pleasantly surprised to see that people could bring their dogs, and young children were welcome as well.
We met the owner and found out that they have plans to add more features to the location. Apparently their busiest time is when they show the UT football games on Saturday's, and it sounds like NFL Sundays are a big deal as well.
This is looking like a great spot to watch the UT football games on the stupid Longhorn Network with my 10 year old son and maybe even bring the dog along...
