Hertz Car Rental - Lakewood - Ocean Avenue — Local services in Lakewood Township

So, we went with Hertz because the price was far better then all the other rental companies. The vehicle was a 2017 Toyota Sienna, and it was beautiful. A few minor issues with the vehicle though. 1st, to Hertz, you should really Purge out the Bluetooth info before loaning the car to renters. We weren't able to link up any of our device because the Bluetooth as it wouldn't allow any new devices. 2nd, upkeep with maintenance. The window washer fluid was empty, and the dash indicator flash Maintenance Required the entire trip. We didn't know what this meant, oil change, or tire rotation, it could have been anything. 3rd, Hannah (I believe was her name) was quite pushy. Trying to make us purchase the additional insurance. When in fact, I work for an insurance agency, and have an umbrella coverage, and didn't really need to purchase it. She, in fact made us call our carrier before giving us the keys. I put my phone on speaker phone so that she could hear what my agent was saying. After she heard it, she was like "whatever, if you get into an accident, it's on you"!! I'm giving Hertz 3 stars because the price was far better then everyone else. We didn't rent the vehicle from Hannah, but her sarcastic ways is a reason we dropped a star, and the fact that we had to fill the window washer fluid and had no idea when maintenance was done last was why I dropped it another star. I had an absolutely amazing experience with David, Bob, and Sam. For background, Im a 20 year old who had just got in my first major accident that left me without a vehicle which in turn affected the entire beginning of my summer home from college. I work everyday and still needed to figure out everything with my totaled vehicle but i couldn’t do either without a car. The insurance company set me up with another rental agency that wasnt nearly as helpful as Hertz Lakewood. I was relying on family and friends who have their own lives to help me out and bring me back and forth to the other agency that kept having problems with the reservation and that fatigued them after the 3rd time of driving me there. I was overwhelmed and frustrated and decided to call around myself. If it wasn’t for David giving me the confidence, I don't think i would’ve advocated for myself towards the insurance and rental company.

I was able to get the insurance to book my reservation with Hertz and wasnt sure when id be able to pick up the vehicle due to running out of transportation options. To my surprise, Dave and the rest of the team offered to first, pick me up and bring me to the office but then, ultimately decided they will just deliver the car to me. Thank you again to everyone over at Hertz, you took a huge weight off of my shoulders and i will forever...

I’ll try to keep this short, but to put it simply, Jen and Bob were AMAZING!

I flew in last night into Philly and had a reservation thru the Hertz location there.

I will leave the experience I had at that location in a review on their website, because it won’t be a pleasant one.

Long story short, Hertz 800 number refused to help me this morning. They told me I had to go back to the location I rented from, which is an hour and a half from where I was staying.

I got a suggestion from my mother to go to a Hertz local to my location to see if they could assist me. Originally, they told me they couldn’t. However, once they heard what had happened to me, they fixed my problem in minutes!

They saved me hundreds of dollars in unnecessary charges, and saved me from a ton of stress and aggravation.

They did not have to do what they did, but they saw the need to help a customer who had been taken advantage of, and treated poorly by the 800 services that are suppose to be there to help.

I highly recommend renting from the Hertz in Lakewood, NJ. You will get kind and honest people!

As far as Philly, I can’t say everyone will have a bad experience, but I will be taking mine to management. If I ever need to rent from that location again, now I know what to pay attention for.
