This has to be The most understaffed store in the entire chain. Especially, if you work during the day, and can't get there until later in the evening.
The meat and fish department are great, but good luck finding anyone there. Even in the day it's hard to find either the butcher or the fish person. But I will say that they have a good selection, and it's usually decent quality. It's just that you are buying prepackaged stuff if you don't get there by 5:00 or 6:00.
The same goes with the bakery department and the deli department. And pretty much every single other department in the store.
I went in on the Monday before Fat Tuesday, because I wasn't going to get a chance to stop in Hamtramck to get Packzi's. They tasted like they had been in the freezer for a month, the dough was so dried out.
And why do I have to ring up a half a cart full of groceries by myself, and then bag them??? I'm not your employee!!! Quit acting like you're doing me a favor by being open, when you have nobody there to help your customers. And the ones that are, would rather be chatting while ignoring people.
You can do better for the community you serve, Kroger. You're pissing on the grave of...
Read moreI've shopped here quite often for beer and food my wife always comes with. She never brings her Id because I'm checking out duh she also doesn't drink, we had our 4 month old with us. She never has been asked but today some lady at the self check out had a power trip and asked for both. Then she took my stuff said I had to walk out the door and come back in and go to a different register. So I did that. Should have just left tbh. I Collect my stuff from the first lady then to another line which had the normal shopping cart people with a lot of stuff I had like 8 items. Unbelievable then there was a screw up at the counter and the lady had to restart the whole thing. I didn't get her name from self checkout but I'll be sure to go back and get it not to shop. But I definitely hoping she never gets a raise or improves her entitle life first world life some common sense could have been used like my wife is a nursing mother not drinking and if I brought my 15 or 17 yr old with me what then. Now I kinda Wish they'd take the whole store out and put a Costco. So much for a quick...
Read moreThis Kroger store has many plus points so I hesitate giving a less than glowing review. I always go to Kroger for meats. I like the discount you get with the savings card. However two days ago I bought a watermelon that was on sale for $2 less than the regular price. It was half spoiled and I could not use it and threw it out. I can forgive a store for one mistake, but when I called them to warn them that the watermelon was spoiled and they should not sell any more of them, the produce manager said he was surprised because he had tested a few and only found a few that were bad. I might not be remembering his exact words, but I strongly suggested that a customer might not like the idea that there was a 10 - 20% chance the item they were buying was unusable. I called back to talk to the managers and all they would say was I could bring it back and get my money back. That was not the point. I had planned on giving watermelon to my family and could not. I just wanted them to avoid having more unhappy customers in the same...
