This place has been on a downward spiral since weโve been eating from there. From the less than ideal quality in food, to the lowered quality service. Iโm basically reviewing on behalf of my twelve year old son, who had waited inside for his order to be brought to him. He literally sat there, patiently, for just over an hour!!! For one order of chicken Alfredoโฆ he said that after he would see someone enter inside and receive their food and leave, heโd ask on the status of his order. Only to be told that he would have to wait longer. He didnโt complain over the food quality at least. Heโs going to eventually get to the point where I am and refuse to eat and do business with them any longer. Iโm all for local and family owned businesses. But my advice would be for these businesses to have a little more awareness for the little people and their needs. Theyโll be grown up eventually and theyโll want to give their families an experience that over time exceeds expectations.
Read all the ONE star reviews lol unapologetic owner, cares more about profits. Iโm finding it hard to believe that my youngest and very honest son, including his mom, would just lie about their experience to me. Maybe the owner needs to pay more attention to his business and his customers.
Dear Jeff, no inaccuracies were made! Funny guy! Instead of being a douchebag, just accept things for what they are. What makes you think that a woman canโt keep track of time? Especially when sheโs paying attention to her son! An extremely intelligent son who also knows how to tell the difference between sitting while waiting for just over an hour for his meal, compared to having received his meal quickly or at least in a reasonable period of time. Let go of your EGO! Donโt CAP! Especially when you were given an opportunity to just correct your poor customer service that day. Best of luck be...
ย ย ย Read moreYesterday on July 2nd, 2025, my wife and I made our first trip over to EG nicks. We heard a lot of good things about the food and excellent things about their pizza as well, what we received was absolutely disgusting. We ordered a thin crust pizza, well done, and what arrived at the table was an absolute abomination. The pizza was raw dough, so super thin you could read a newspaper through whatever the uncooked crust might have been, and the toppings slid right off of it, you literally could not get it from the pizza pan to your plate without making an enormous mess (who serves pizza with a tong anyways?). Had I thought about it I would have taken a picture and posted it online, with this review. We specifically gave the waitress, who was very nice, specific details on what we expected on our pizza, I have never seen pizza so disgusting in my entire life. The crust was raw, the toppings slid right off, and there was a pool of grease in the center of the pizza. This was brought to the manager's attention, the manager never apologized, offered us a couple free desserts, and took $5 off of the bill. A sticking point that the manager kept mentioning was that he took the pizza off of the bill, and it's like of course you're going to take the pizza off of the bill it is inedible! The manager, who I believe his name is Jeff, had also mentioned to us that they had a newer, younger girl in the kitchen and she's not very experienced at making pizzas. Why in the world would you have an inexperienced person back in the kitchen making pizzas for paying customers? We ended up ordering a burger and a Reuben and they were very subpar with flavor and size. Never again, never again. We WILL be sure to share our experience with everyone we know that mentions EG Nicks from...
ย ย ย Read moreIf you're at all familiar with Lapeer you know dining options are scarce. We were celebrating my hubby's birthday and decided to try something new. There was no wait on a Sunday afternoon which made me nervous. The inside has a nice atmosphere though it is a little dark for my taste. The service was lackadaisical but not rude. The bathrooms were not clean. The menu is varied. I've never seen a steakhouse that also serves pizzas. We started with spinach artichoke dip. It was delicious. And the dip was served in a bread bowl which is brilliant. I got really excited about my meal while eating the appetizer. Unfortunately it went downhill from there. Our salads were average to subpar. Lifeless lettuce with some grape tomatoes, cucumber slices, onion, and pickled beets thrown on top. Even my blue cheese dressing lacked flavor. The breadsticks were simply that, sticks of bread. I got a sirloin steak (which I ordered medium rare) and smashed red potatoes. Both the steak and the potatoes were under seasoned and the steak was medium well (which I couldn't tell until I started eating since the lighting was dim) and dry. My hubby got a ribeye steak with mushrooms and onions (for $4 extra which I think is a bit much for onions and mushrooms) and a loaded baked potato. His steak needed seasoning as well. My daughter got chicken strips and French fries which were exactly what you would expect for a kids' meal. We both ordered water and with tip (15%) our total came to about $65. Would I go again? Maybe. Our options here aren't vast. But I would not order a...
