Mex-Mart — Local services in Laredo

Went in on Sunday afternoon looking for a 50 lb hog to roast for my birthday. Butcher assured me he had in stock. I told him I’d be back for one on Wednesday. Yesterday, went back to pick up the hog and butcher says he only has suckling pigs of 20 lbs! Now how am I supposed to find what I need in 2 days? My best guess is he was trying to move the short line along that Sunday since football is back. Idk 🤷🏻‍♂️ That’s what I get for trying to support local carnecerias I guess

This is a very unprofessional establishment, I have called on 4 different occasions asking for a specific meat order and everyone seems to be giving me a different response. Some employees either tell me they have the product, others have no idea what I'm talking about, and others just tell me they don't receive that specific product. Waste of time trying to communicate with a disoriented staff that are either too confused or too uninterested to check their stock and talk with one another. I have no idea why this place has such good reviews, huge...

Great spot for groceries, specially if you're looking for Mexican products that can't be found in any other place, this is the spot. Meat is fresh, they have a good variety of products. The meals they sell are simply delicious, I highly recommend the Menudo, Barbacoa and Pork Carnitas. The salsas are something to die for. Also the corn Tortillas are extremely good such as the ones you get in Mexico. Service is great, prices are ok considering most of the products are imported...
