Las Palmas Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Laredo

What a disappointment for my hometown of Laredo!!!

I was looking forward to having a good Mexican breakfast during my holiday visit to Laredo. When we arrived, no one ever asked us if we were dining in or picking up. After 5 minutes, I had to ask a waitress who told me to pick a table. The restaurant was not packed, but there must have been five waitresses running around like a chicken without its head.

After sitting down, it took 10 minutes to get a drink order, followed by another 10 minutes to place the order. Followed by another 20 minutes to get the food. I ordered the barbacoa place, and my potatoes looked uncooked when I asked for them to be crispy/cooked. We never got the same waitress twice. We never got offered a refill for coffee, and it took ten additional minutes to pay the check.

It was interesting to see the table by the left side in which it looked like the owners were enjoying coffee and eating their food without helping the staff. I say they are the owners as they would enter the kitchen/drive-thru area. This is such a shame for a restaurant to offer disappointing service while so many other local businesses have been forced to close down due to COVID-19.

First time going there and i'm happy to say that it was great. My family order there plates and they all were satisfy and would order it again. Only reason I can not give it 5 is because of certain things. Example I order some chilaquiles with eggs and chicken, it was good but for me chilaquiles always goes with fry eggs not scrambled eggs if it was a choice to make I was not offered the choice, another thing was no free refills on aguas frescas "flavor waters" and on soft drinks also the drinks were can drinks. Also no chips and salsa at the beginning of your meal, we asked but they said that they had ran out. Their restroom needs a bit of Improvement it smell a bit. This is the second time i go with my family and it will the last. Service was BAD! We got there I ask 2 servers we needed a table for 5 and both of them just ignored me. Manager was by the entrance and didn’t bother to check up or anything. We finally got a table took them about 10 min to take us the menu. We order our breakfast drinks those came up quick. Food was about 45 min waiting and they took everything separate. My kids pancakes and oatmeal were the last one. Never got refills. I ask for a glass of water salt and extra plate NEVER got them. (This was breakfast). I can imagine how lunch or dinner is. Second time we go and same bad experience. NOT A RECOMMEND...
