We purchased produce here on Dec. 15th . We cut into a watermelon we purchased there and it was absolute mush inside ! We took a pic and threw it away as it was inedible ! We also purchase some blueberries which had an ammonia taste and threw them away also. We went back to jams on dec 30th and explained to an employee what had happened and showed her the pic. All she wanted to do wS argue about the date on the pic because we bought it on a Sunday and didnโt cut it open till Thursday . Another employee was telling her in front of us that there has been issues with the Mellonโs turning to mush and they were refunding them . This employee just got ruder by the moment telling us they have a three day policy and she will not give us a refund !! Well I live very local and I will do my best to spread the word of this girls horrible customer service skills and I hope the family that owns Jams appreciates the lost business over a $5 refund ! We will never buy from there again and we certainly have the means to spread the word about this rude employee and...
ย ย ย Read more1-26-18. I have visited here a few times over the many years they have been there. Each time I have tried them out, the produce I bought never tasted fresh or perfectly ripe. I have bought dull tasting apples, sour strawberries, dull bananas and unsweetened watermelon. I went the first time to try them out. Big disappointment. I went a few years later hoping that they improved the quality...Same drab fruit. I went today(another year-or so later). Still dull tasteless produce. AND...the prices are the same as the markets! Don't waste your $ here. I give up on them. Upsate...I purchased a variety of apples there yesterday. The one I had yesterday (Gala) b4 I wrote the review was tasteless. Today I ate a Jonigold and it tasted as it should. So to sum my review up...it's hit and miss and I suggest knowing how to spot a good and ripe fruit to avoid...
ย ย ย Read moreI truly hate writing this statement. I've always been a fan of JAMS! The family who runs this store has always tried to bring the best in produce. However, today a cashier named Kim waited on me and I've never met or have seen her before. As she was weighing produce.... a green tomato was $0.47 she charged me $0.50. Another item was an onion, $0.65 and she charged $0.70... Her explanation when I inquired... "The scales bounce." I informed her that I worked for Publix and knew all about scales. I also want to say I enjoy saving a little money on produce and helping out the "Ma and pop" shops. They are fading. I will continue to shop at JAMS however Kim will not be waiting on me. I allow someone else to check me out...
