Update: in retaliation for my review, the manager was able to identify me and the owner has disallowed me from selling here unless I take the review down. As I feel my review is honest, and well-researched I am unwilling to take it down. I'd be willing to change it in the event changes were made addressing the things mentioned. However, I will not be blackmailed into removing a review based on honesty. Even asking me not to return without adding "unless you take down your review" is a valid response, but that's not what happened. Hopefully they address the things I mentioned in my initial review, but it appears I will not be present to see it if they do.
From a selling perspective, Ditto is well below Plato's Closet but above Arizona Trading Company. Ditto rounds to the nearest dollar and almost always gives you $3.33/item no matter the brand or item price they will sell it for. Plato's and ATC both give you 30% of what they plan to sell items for, but ATC sells things at insanely low prices so sometimes $3.33/item is more than they would give you.
Additionally, Ditto has the least knowledgeable staff. Their racks are full of Shein and Walmart clothing despite them absolutely not meant to carry these. ATC staff are very knowledgeable and Plato's staff have a computer system that helps them determine what to buy. So be wary of what you buy at Ditto as well, I have actually seen Walmart dresses being sold for more than they cost AT Walmart.
If there's more than 1 staff member, Ditto moves very slow as well. Instead of increasing productivity, they mostly congregate and chat and it can be hard to either check out or sell to them.
All in all, Ditto is absolutely not as high-end as they pretend to be and should probably be your second stop for both buying and selling, if not the third (ATC does carry some great higher end items for much lower prices). Not terrible by any means, just not as great as you would expect based on...
Read moreI would love to sell more here, but their appointment policies make it difficult! I went in to this location the other day with a basket of about 15 pieces (all very lightly worn Sezane, Doen, and Veronica Beard). I didn't realize I needed an appointment, and even though the store was empty, the sales associate wouldn't look at my stuff and told me the next available appointment was in a few days. Honestly, I already knew I could make a lot more money selling my pieces on Poshmark, but sometimes I don't feel like going through the hassle of photographing/listing/shipping them. I had that day off of work, and having to come back on a different day negates the convenience of selling at Ditto, rather than something like Poshmark. I would totally understand it if the store was busy or there were already people there who had made appointments, but with two employees standing chatting at the counter and no customers, I...
Read moreWalked in the store with no greeting or acknowledgement from any associates. Stood by the area where they purchase your clothes for a solid 5 minutes before anyone noticited me, then finally the cashier came from behind the register, still never acknowledged me and walked to the back. Then finally after being in the back for a few minutes she finally came up to talk to me. She said the other associate was in the back eating and it would be about 10 more minutes before they could help me. You could have at least come up with a lie about why she was in the back, any other excuse would have been less rude. I Should have just walked out right then and there, but I had already driven across town to come. Then i noticed when she eventually came out she didn't even take all the clothes out of the basket before saying she was done looking through my clothes. I've worked in retail for a long time and I was shocked. Never...
