The Lawrence location is a staple in the community, and the closest location to my home. unfortunately,I have noticed several problems have risen AFTER COVID changes taking place However the issue that is actually having a direct impact on me is as follows I know the store hours were changed and while it used to close at 10pm it now is suppose to close at 9pm. However at this location anytime I try to shop on a week day after I get off work (9 out of 10x) I am met at the door by staff and/or security saying “we’re closed” and/or “the doors are already locked”!!! This is not just a one time or even three time thing! This is happening to me every time I have showed up after 8:40pm on a week night! I have witnessed employees standing out front of the store literally standing there yelling to people as they’re getting out of their cars that the store is close! up to 20 MINUTES EARLY Staff is outside the store literally shueing away customers! I have a child to feed and the new COVID time change is already making it harder to shop late, so I definitely feel like they should not be able to turn away customers who are coming in last minute, or lock the doors and not let anyone else into the store past 8:40pm when I need to run in an grab a gallon of milk for my baby! the time shown on Google for the store says 9pm, even Google shows “CLOSING SOON” until 9pm and then it shows “CLOSED” it doesn’t say you close at 8:35 some days and 8:40pm others... it closes at NINE PM. Today I showed up at 8:45 and of course was met by security saying the store was closed and when I brought up my concerns and asked if I could speak to a manager I was told the manager was busy closing the store! When I asked him if he knew the number to corporate he actually lied to my face and told me Save a lot doesn’t have a corporate office or location! I quickly found this to be a lie with a search on Google!! If this keeps happening to me my next complaint will be filed through the BBB and I will post my review on any website that I can including Google! **please note my use of capital letters is used to emphasize and in no way did I intend for my frustration to be directed towards the person reading...
Read moreI like all these you can get fresh vegetables cheaper meat and you can even get some household items there that they have on sale I like all this a good place to shop. But be very careful, they are starting to put the identity theft devices on the machines, at the checkout counter inside of their stores. I know several people have lost 3 to $400 shopping with Save-A-Lot. with those scam machines attached. Seems like if somebody is able to come inside the store and put those on the machines the stores themselves should be responsible for reimbursing their customers. Not your credit card company. I wouldn't be surprised if somebody started a class action suit from the scam machines being placed...
Read moreThese carts are scattered everywhere. When u give a quarter to get a cart then the cashier gives u a cart without a quarter, you just don't get your quarter back...Um, ok. Anyway, Sav-A-Lot has always been my "Go to & save" store. My "broke cause it's rent week" store, but it is no longer saving money. I might as well go to Kroger, because most of the time I'm going to get a better price for better products. Unbelievable the way these items are priced. Just one example is Kool-Aid...3/$1.00 @ Sav-A-Lot, whereas they are 4/$1.00 @ Kroger. Yeah, it's only a few cents difference, but a few cents start to add up very quickly when grocery shopping. Guess I'll be going to Aldi if I want to...
