Small and a very hole-in-the-wall place; rundown and not very inviting. Maybe we were out of place or something, because the service was just bare minimum and not super friendly. We were also stunned when they told us they had NO SALSA! I don't know if they were out or just don't do salsa, but that seems unusual and was disappointing. Not much on the menu (and it's mostly in Spanish, but we know enough). Everything tastes homemade. The guacamole was fresh. The chicken in my flautas wasn't flavorful or seasoned; dry and bland. The beans were like liquid. My husband said his steak tacos were good and I tried a bit of the steak and it was alright. If we were passing through the area again, I wouldn't go a second time like I do with other places like Greek's Pizzeria. I'm actually really surprised by so many glowing reviews because I've had better homemade authentic food from my bi-lingual church; as well as from THE BEST I've ever had in our own area (Patino's, Warsaw, Indiana). Skip this place.

This place is broke. Server never checked on me. I ordered 1 steak quesadilla and a coke and was charged 20 dollars. Zero flavor other than the hot sauce. No receipt, and what was I supposed to do? Ask for one? What a joke full of false LAUGHS.

This place has delicious tacos (steak & al pastor which are my favorite), friendly staff and spending $17 dollars overall for five tasty tacos with avocado and an orchata flavored drink, not bad of a deal at all.

It’s 4:14 PM, and unfortunately, this isn’t the first time I’ve witnessed this issue at Cafe Rio. Despite the posted time, the food is never ready and a big rush to give out old food. Staff were just starting to put meat on the grill, clearly behind schedule. There’s a lot of standing around, talking, and unproductive activity rather than timely preparation. They even attempted to serve dried-out chicken, likely due to not following proper food prep protocols or FIFO (First In, First Out) guidelines. I sincerely hope ownership becomes aware of how this location is being managed—it’s affecting the quality and...

I was there for a food safety training but I got food while we were breaking for lunch. I told them I wanted the enchilada's that were not hot. When I got my food, the fumes alone practically scorched my taste buds. I complained that I said "NOT hot," and my food was replaced with a sauce that was not hot. That was nice of them, and I understand there may have been some confusion due to language barrier, but when I got my new food, it just didn't taste very good. I've had plenty of authentic Mexican food, I love it! But the enchiladas at this place just didn't make me...
