Absolutely loved my experience with this music store. I went in looking for a specific used "BIG NAME" guitar, which unfortunately they did not have (nor did anyone else), but fortunately, they did have guitars from a brand I'd never heard of. Teton. Zach gave me a little history on the brand, let me borrow a capo and I sat and played one for 15 minutes or so. I told him I was going to do some research but would likely be back. Well... after a nights worth of watching videos and reading articles I made my way back the following day. I found the guitar I was playing and had Zach put it behind the counter for me while I played a few more Tetons they had on the rack... Wouldn't you know it, I found another that I liked as well. By this point the manager had come out too and spent some time with me and provided more history of their relations with Teton and the brands customer service. I was already sold, but his testimony was the "nail in the coffin" so to speak. With my "BIG NAME" budget burning a hole in my pocket, I walked out with two brand new Teton dreadnought guitars and cases too for less than was going to spend on the big name... And I couldn't be happier. I spent the whole night playing them. The rich tones and playability of these guitars are phenomenal. The quality of materials and construction are undeniable and surprising for such affordable guitars.
It's a rare thing these days to receive this kind of attention and care from a retailer. The staff at Gwinnett Discount Music are super friendly, helpful and knowledgeable, not only of their craft but in their products as well. I HIGHLY recommend them to anyone looking for a quality shop to do business with. You will not regret it.
I'll be...
Read moreWorst experience of my life. I rented an instrument and they wouldn't take it back. They said it was not the correct instrument. Come to find out the instrument I had they rented to someone else after I had it for over a year. After all is said and done they are still coming after me for money. They expect me to pay for something I supposedly didn't have. They even had the nerve to send it to a collections company. They won't let you speak to manager. They say they will get back in contact with you and never do. How are you suppose to deal with a company when they won't deal with you??? Almost everyone at that company has a bad attitude. I finally get to talk to manager after having a major fit. Then they say they are going to open an investigation into it. They act like I am lying. I have tried to deal with them to the point where I am being told I am untruthful. Shame on these people. I don't understand how they can run such a dishonest organization. They just want me to keep taking it and paying while they do nothing to rectify my problem. God forbid they actual give me a refund for all the times that I paid that I should not have. All they care about is getting as much money out of you that they can. To HELL with customer service. All because you have to do it for your child to take a band class. The school should not recommended them if this is how hard working parents...
Read moreWhile the store has a nice selection and reasonable prices, Phillip was very disrespectful towards me and my friend, who needed my new mandolin to be restrung (which cost $500 mind you, and it still needed MORE setup before it was actually playable. I wish they were more upfront about the quality of the instrument before I purchased it...), after the previous tech mixed the d and a strings up. This was an honest mistake and I didn't mind taking it back to be fixed, but Phillip, without so much as a polite hello or friendly gesture upon entering his establishment (while he was VERY polite to the lady who was speaking to him when we came in), nabbed the mandolin from me after I explained the issue and said, "It'll be done in 45 minutes", no eye contact, no apology for the mistake, NOTHING. He then spent MORE THAN AN HOUR working at it, without a single word to us while we awkwardly waited for him to finish. I'm never coming back here again and I'd suggest you be very careful about what you buy from here and do your research first before putting...
