Leanderthal Distilling — Local services in Leander

Absolutely love this spot. Friendly, local bartenders who clearly love their jobs and the community. Drinks are good, well priced, and lots of local options! 21+ is a big bonus as well, and while they don't have food, they're close to a number of good chow spots (same center). Only down side is the hours, it would be phenomenal if they were open later than 9, at least on weekends. Really though, that's my only gripe, you can't go wrong with Leanderthal!

That explanation makes so much sense, I never considered that side of things before and I know nobody would be happy if you guys got in trouble for breaking regulations! I'm glad my review was a good one to read, just wanted to reiterate that you have a wonderful crew: I swear every time I go in there it's like walking into a family reunion, everybody is so happy to be there and the staff treat customers like old friends. The quality of the distilled spirits is absolutely fantastic. The quality of customer service is questionable. We began our evening with a small group of “regulars” that were treated as any customer ought to be. But, when things got a little busier, service seemed to suffer. As a female that had previously ordered 2 drinks at the bar, I went back for a third and asked to add 2 bottles of whiskey/bourbon to my tab and close out my tab. I was told to come right back with my card to do that. Five minutes later, I did, and then watched 3 men get served before me over the next 20+ minutes, while I was standing at the bar, card in hand, trying to make eye contact before another employee finally asked if I’d been helped. It’s not that big of a place that it’s that hard to attend to a customer under those circumstances. I love what this place offers and will be back, BUT, they should take this feedback and grow accordingly. Stopped by LD this evening on our way to another event, a "quick cocktail on the way"... so glad we did! We met the owner, Scott, and his sidekick bartenders Matt and Polly. All terrific people and eager to explain what they had to offer, and we talked at length about their products. We ordered the Leander Lemontini (with lavender) and the Raspberry Beret ... both excellent cocktails, each $7 ... best craft cocktails in the area, and best prices bar none!

You can bring in food from the outside, and they have a chalkboard on the wall with a few local restaurants that will deliver there. They don't allow kids (anyone under 21, including even the "cutest babies") or pets, but once you see the place, you'll get that! As their website says, "it's date night, get a babysitter and stop by." Off the beaten path, a "hidden gem" as they say... the people are great, the drinks are great...
