My wife, two kids, and I visited Grandpa Joe’s Candy Shop today, and I have to say—I was thoroughly impressed! As a lifelong candy fanatic, I’ve been to many candy shops, but this one truly stands out.

One of my personal measures of a great candy store is whether they carry marshmallow cones—those nostalgic little treats with a stale yet satisfying crunch and a sugary marshmallow top. To my delight, they had them! It took me a bit to find them, as they were tucked away at the bottom of a shelf, but just knowing they were there brought back childhood memories.

The shop itself has an incredible selection, featuring both classic old-fashioned candies and modern favorites. They even have a candy bar, adding to the charm of the experience. The atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and spacious, making it a fun place to explore. One of the highlights for my kids was the massive, taller-than-me gumball machine—the first thing they ran to when we walked in!

The staff was friendly and engaging, and I learned that the shop has only been open for about three or four weeks. Given the fantastic experience we had, I truly hope they thrive in Leesburg. It’s wonderful to have Grandpa Joe’s Candy Shop as what I’d consider the official candy store of downtown Leesburg, Florida. Adults and kids alike will enjoy this! This specific location has a motorcycle your kids(or you!) can sit on. There are toys and fun gifts for adults as well.

My kids love the $5 make your own box to go of candy they select themselves. They have a huge selection of wrapped and unwrapped.

The homemade section is my favorite! I have tried several and never been disappointed! Think gourmet chocolates(they also have white chocolates).

It is definitely an experience and not "just a store" kind of atmosphere. From their huge gumball machine, to the fun games(old-school and newer)they sell, motorcycle to sit on, so many interesting products(for young and experienced), and a great candy(non chocolate and chocolate) selection, you can't go wrong!

If you collect drink bottles, they have a great selection of refrigerated and non refrigerated drinks(they will open your bottle caps if you prefer) along with refrigerated bottled water.

This store was exceptionally clean, had friendly/helpful staff, and gave us our happy ending after visiting one of the theme parks. Win-win!

Let me begin by saying I had a wonderful experience at this store as I went today for the first time.

Great experience, shop owner was friendly, greeted me at the door.

Colorful shop, great vibes, employees are walking around and willing to answer any questions customers may have.

The products themselves were at a wide variety of items such as fudge, truffles, specialty sodas, specialty candy, just a huge variety of candy and many other products. They have a deal where you can fill a bag of candy for a specific price, and also products in the case can be bought based on weight I believe.

The shop even had some international candies such as matcha KitKats, which I tried for the first time.

But in summary, this was a great first time experience, the selection of items is great, they even have pinball machines in the back of the store, and I will most definitely be returning again. Highly...
