RCA RETRO VIDEO GAMES — Local services in Leisure City

I literally just got to my hotel and couldn't contain my excitement to post this! What almost ended up being a horrible trip ended up being much better than I expected! I had hopes to go to 2 different "Retro Stores" on my trip to Key Largo and sadly one in Kendall was more toys than anything and common items you find anywhere. Unfortunately not impressed at all. In Homestead I passed by another store and they were closed due to "Vacation". I mean to each their own but I have my own business in West Palm and I don't just close for such a long period of time, but I was very upset because I really hoped to find something after driving down almost 3 hours. Before heading to Key largo typed in retro store's near me and wow was I glad I did! Found RCA right before they were about to close and the young man Chris even stayed open until almost 7pm which was very much appreciated! I found a game CIB that I had been wanting for a while BUT what I really really wanted was a DK64 banana N64 controller that I had only seen 1 time mind you in a NY convention (looked horrible) this one looks like it came out of the box! I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw it!!!! I didn't even care what it cost and even than I feel he gave me an amazing deal for both items. (Even got a sailor moon figure for the wifey she will absolutely love) I have my own business and know how important reviews are and when reading the "bad" about this store I simply thought it was extremely unfair. 1 star because you don't like a price? So don't buy it lmao I practically met this young man's whole family and their pup too! Who could seriously not love this place? When I drive back down I will definitely be visiting again! I messaged RCA a few days ago to see if they had any oem gamecube controllers in decent condition and they said they had some in stock starting at $45! So I was like awesome and went to the store to check them out later the same day, I went in and one the workers pulls out two controllers, one is silver and one is black ( which is what I was looking for ) she let me get a hands on feel for them and they were both meh lol, the best feeling one was the black one so the guy rang me up for it and I asked how much it was and he said $55 plus tax! In my head I was like uhhh okay xD I didn't want to be awkward and say never mind since I was already putting my card in, anyways I messaged them about the price on the way home and they responded saying the silver controller was $50 since it didn't have an original left analog stick and mine did ( it does not lol ) they didn't really answer my question why is was more than the price they originally said before which was $45 starting with the basic colors, I just wish they were more honest with the condition and price of the controller I purchased, but maybe they just thought that the controller wasn't tampered with and it had all its original parts 🤷‍♂️ it happens. The controller works 100% fine and I've been playing smash with it regularly since and it's good. Service was great, they responded pretty fast and even gave me a heads up that they were gonna close shop early! Just make sure before you purchase an expensive item from RCA that it looks and feels legit!!! other than that I can't...

Truthfully the owners simply do not miss. For full disclosure, I’ve been a frequent customer of this store for about almost over a year. Thats thanks in part to the simple wonderful atmosphere brought upon by the owners Chris, and Rachel, they truly care about the experience all their customers have, along with a genuine passion and appreciation towards video games. Today I stopped by just to look around, and ended spending over an hour and half simply talking to them and having a wonderful time, all while their son is usually playing a game right behind us, its a simple terrific feeling to be around in that shop.

It also doesn’t stop there, they also compliment it with terrific customer service, to help looking up games, to even help replace game cases, to even helping clean off stickers and glue off of game cases, which they did with my copy of Megaman X8 posted below, completely free of charge. There was even a time I came in to purchase a ps2, and he replaced the broken cover that it came with, with one that was fixed, with no extra charge as well.

Compared to other retro game stores in Miami, RCA is truly without equal. To the friendly atmosphere brought upon by the owners, paired with their terrific customer service. All tied together with fair prices, and a strong selection of games/ consoles to choose from. As frequent customer now, and most certainly in the future, I sincerely cannot recommend RCA enough to anyone who wants to get their hands on retro games. Thank you Chris & Rachel, keep up the...
