I agree with many of the reviews for this location. My household has endured everything from theft to mail being put in the wrong mailbox, to the carrier refusing to bring packages to our doors. If I order something, I expect it to be delivered to the appropriate mail box or to the correct door. Instead they leave a "sorry we missed you" ticket in the box, or leave it outside in a location where it can be stolen. Missed me how? No one came to the door or even attempted to deliver the packages. So I'm expected to go to the post office to get a pkg I paid to have delivered to me. Mail arriving months to years after the post mark date. Some of which is time sensitive mail, causing us to miss deadline. Another issue, birthday or holiday cards often come late and opened. On one occasion a gift card my mom put in the card wasn't in the card or envelope. The envelope was opened like a person opens mail, not from damage caused during delivery. The following month the $ scratch off my friend sent in an card was missing. As I noticed the trend, I called to complain about theft, I was told that thicker envelopes get caught in the machine at the distribution center and sometimes what is inside falls out. I'd believe that if my mail, that is much thicker, arrived torn open as well. Or, that it occurred with cards that we received when first moved here. Our carrier then was great. He kept a regular DAILY schedule, he never put mail in the wrong box, any pkg that didn't fit in the parcels box he brought to the door--no issue with doing it, he was professional and friendly. Now over the last few years service has declined tremendously. I was told they're not required to bring packages to the door, if they "miss us", we have to go pick it up. Why Amazon is giving them packages is beyond me, because even the smallest packages are delivered to our door by Amazon or a contracted service. I have many things set up for delivery (due to not having a vehicle at the moment). It's pointless if I have to pay a ride to go pick them up. I cannot wait to move. Hopefully, wherever that is has a better PO,...
Read moreWorst post office in St. Louis. Actually moving away from South County simply because how horrible they are here. Instead of trying to fix a problem with my mail carrier, the "managers" at this location would argue with me about what was going on. They'd also put me on hold or transfer me without telling me first as a way to "powertrip". The employees here need to get their ish together, because I'm sick of putting up with it. Oh, and a carrier sent back mail when he decided everyone in my building had to put their last names on the outside of our boxes (NOT REQUIRED, EVEN STATED ON USPS WEBSITE) or he was going to withhold our mail. He LIED to his supervisors and managers about sending back our mail, then we had a late fee on a utility bill the next month that he had not delivered during his temper tantrum. No one apologized, and when I called this post office to notify them of the discovery another woman ARGUED with me, then put me on hold. I have called the 1-800 number today to report this post office and all the B.S. I have been...
Read moreOn December 25, 2005, I awoke knowing I hadn’t yet received a large Christmas package, expected from my family in Memphis. I’d just had my newborn son, 23 days prior, we’d had a bunch of snowfall, and I was in no shape to travel. So the package was going to be the center of our holiday joy, especially with all the toys and clothes that would arrive for my baby. Suddenly, at 6:30 am, I heard a loud knock. I cautiously opened the door to the snow covered porch. Upon that porch was nothing other than the huge Christmas box we had been expecting for a couple of days!! The post office worker was gone so fast, I couldn’t even thank them. Whomever was running the post office in 2005, I’ve never had a chance to thank them for going the extra mile for people. I’m sure they looked at that box and knew we needed it by Christmas morning. It was a Christmas miracle, indeed. 20 years later, I’ve never stopped being grateful. Thank you...
