I saw this place open and didn't know what this was at first but then started seeing more flyers go around, including at my favorite 짜장면/짬뽕 place 경회류. Then we went to see what this was all about, and the place is a Take Out joint for only Take Out food (분식 음식).
The grilled Mackerel is really good and portion is not small. If you get the set menu, you get a rice and soup with that to make a very hearty lunch for the road. I have to try some of the other stuff on the menu, but being that this place is new, I think this is a really good hidden gem. Just a weird location next to Kaya Restaurant (which I don't get why people like this place so much, but then again, not too many places that sells Korean BBQ in Leonia other than Honey Pig but that's more Pork vs Beef), but I can see people that ordering from this place instead of Kaya for To-Go items, especially since Kaya is overpriced, and food won't be any better than Take-Out wise. One thing that I liked is that if you order the fish, they will grill it for you right on the spot, so you'll have fresh grilled fish when you leave that door.
My new spot for fast Korean food and I would recommend this.
But I would recommend this: List everything as the price after the credit card fees, and give discounts to the people who want to pay in cash. This would make the customers feel like they are getting a deal/discount, and walk out happier feeling special for getting good food vs making someone feel 기븐 나쁘게 for being surprised with a credit card fee and walk out with a "this food better be good" judgmental mindset which puts your food already in a bad light. I see so many businesses (new AND old), make this mistake and their business eventually suffers as a result of it leading to another food place closing. I am seeing more of the successful business adapt this approach I'm recommending. If you think about it, the outcome is the same, but this approach is more receptive and leaves the customer feeling good (the attract bees with...
Read moreI recently ordered from oh gui and I have to say, I was oh so blown away! From start to finish, the experience was fantastic. The fish was perfectly cooked - crispy on the outside, tender and flaky on the inside. You could tell it was fresh and the flavor was outstanding. The portion size was generous and everything was hot and fresh even though it was takeout.
The staff were friendly and made sure my order was ready on time. The packaging was neat, ensuring nothing got soggy during transport.
If you’re in the mood for high quality, flavorful fish, this place is an absolute gem. Highly recommend it - I’ll definitely be...
Read moreThis takeout fish restaurant kills it with both flavor, portion and value.
You get a whole broiled fish and adding mere $3 gets you rice and side dishes.
Fish: 5 stars all the way as portions are big [whole fish halved], properly cooked with crispy skin and juicy meat. Given the price of fish at local fresh market, its a bargain for what you get full cooked.
Side dishes: This is a mixed bag. They lean heavily towards spicy/hot when it comes to their side dishes. Not children friendly.
Rice and Soup: Rice portions are sizeable.
An average adult can get 2 meals out of their fish and rice & side dish deal....
