stopped to get my favorite tacos on taco Thursday. normally 3 for 4.50, but they offerred a new box deal. 10 tacos for 13.99. I asked for that with an exception, to have 3 tacos made with flour tortillas instead of corn. I was told they could not do that. I replied that you mean you are not willing to do it, not that you can't do it. The young lady at this Clarkston location said she would not know how to ring it in?? I said you charge extra for salsa, dressings, tomatoes, lettuce, or extram meat, why can't you just charge me for 3 flour tortillas? We don't know how!! I thought to myself, how much cost difference would it be to just trade a corn for a flour tortilla? Faced with their total inflexibility, I told her that I guess I would have to take my business elsewhere. her reply was have a great day!! Are you kidding me? I drove home and sat in my car, fuming over this insane inflexibility, so I decided to call the Happy Day corporate office, since I grew up in my childhood living next door to Bruce Finch, the owner. I was able to speak to Bruce and conveyed my less than pleasing experience. I was surprised to get more of the inflexible attitude. He said that since it was such a stellar price, they couldn't make any changes. I asked why? Well they are trained to work fast on the 10 crisp taco package, that it would slow them down! I asked how much time difference would it take to put meat, cheese, and lettuce into 3 soft shells instead of 3 crisp corn tortillas? Again, he said their computers were not programmed to ring that in. I asked was there really such a huge price difference between flour and corn tortillas? He just stated that they couldn't do it. I said was it really worth losing a customer over 3 soft taco shells, couldn't the window order just shout out something to circumvent their computer issue like "Flag order on that taco box- make 3 of the ten softshell" . Apparently their crew would lose their minds, it would cause such confusion, that maybe the earth would stop turning, because Bruce just stated they could not do that, or charge me for 3 flour tortillas on top of the box package price. Goodbye TacoTime, Goodbye Arbys, Goodbye Tomato Brothers, Goodbye Main Street Grille, Goodbye Southway Pizzeria, Goodbye Zanys, Goodbye all the other Happy Day restaurants. Maybe consider changing your corporate name to Have A Great Day Corporation. ................... In reply to Bruce Finch's comments: Apparently you did misunderstand. I did not want 3 of your fancy Soft Tacos, all I wanted was a substitution of a flour tortilla (tha same small flour tortilla you use on your cheese melts) for the corn tortilla. No fancy upgrades. just a swap of tortillas with the same ingredients as your crunchy taco. Sometimes on these mega box deals, you should train your staff to think outside the box. Oh, and have...
Read moreWent to dinner for my grandson’s birthday and was disappointed. We have gone to Main Street Grill multiple times and never had a bad meal until last night. First, there is no handicap parking. I was told by staff I would need to take this up with the city. REALLY? It’s my responsibility to address this? I watched a lady push a wheelchair across Main Street and struggled to get across. Next, the floor was extremely sticky. Some of the food was not good at all. The ribeye steak looked more like a sirloin. No bone, small, thin, no marbling and had no flavor. The chips that came with the jalapeño dip were so thick and hard. They tasted stale. Ordered a hamburger and received a cheeseburger. I was told they would let the cook know. I would have sent these items back but my family was embarrassed and didn’t want me to do that. Instead they didn’t eat their food. I expect to get a decent meal when I go out to dinner and this was not. To top things off, I called Happy Day Corp. this morning and was told there was NO ONE in the office I could talk to. I find it hard to believe there wasn’t a single person in the office at 10:00 to...
Read moreWent to Zany's after 1:00 hoping to miss the noon Rush what's my 3 and 7 year old great-grand babies & a friend Friday, January 24. We were seated in a booth in the bar. The adults could barely put their arms up on the table and the babies couldn't even see over the top. We did get reseated. Started out pretty good. Got our orders in a reasonable time. We needed to-go boxes, only got one. Waited for another 15 to 20 minutes and no one came around so we could pay for our meal and leave. This is my first experience with Happy Day not providing...
