Dollar General — Local services in Lewistown

I am so glad I was asked to share about my local Dollar General which is located on S. Dorcas St, Lewistown Pa 17044. First of all, it is not the employees of this store that are at fault. It is their corporate office and the owner of the plaza that the Dollar General rents from. This store is moving to a new location once the new store is built but this issue has been going on for at least 5+ years. Rumor has it that the Giant Food Store (in same plaza) refuses to fix the leaky roof because they want DG to move out. Is the safety of their employees and customers not a factor in this matter?! This store has been placing buckets on the floor to catch rain water for years, yet somehow oddly the Giant store NEVER has buckets on their floors. I don't know exactly who is at fault for this, whether it's Giant Food, Dollar General Corp. or the actual owner of the property, but I'd like to put them all responsible for the condition of this store! Not my first choice for shopping, but it does suffice when I need a quick snack or soft drink. The word "general" in the store name is far from being true as most of the items are generally overpriced and kind of expensive for what they are. The staff seem friendly and are always kind enough to help when the customer is in need of assistance locating a specific item. Great place to go to grab things and go! Prices are pretty good on most everything. I run here quickly and get what I need! Especially if I don't feel like going to Walmart! I can't go in this store and walk out empty handed! Cannot walk into this store without finding the cutest decor! I have to wear blinders! I can't ever go in and get just what i came for!
