TLDR - avoid their service center if you want quality repairs and/or don't want to waste your time/money. They epitomize the term "stealership" in terms of both time and money.
I brought my truck to this OEM service center to get an OEM quality repair for a problem with my rear turn signal. They get one star for partially diagnosing the issue. Unfortunately, the repair I got was far from OEM quality. They could have replaced a damaged section of electrical harness with a Mopar harness for $60 (retail cost from Mopar's website) plus about 5 minutes labor to do it. Instead, they spliced a few wires, wrapped them with electrical tape, and charged me $275 to do that. That's on top of the $137 they charged me to look under my truck and spot the damaged wires which, if I had to guess, took less than 10 minutes based on where they were.
Instead of getting my truck back with an OEM harness, I spent $413 to get a fix that could have been done in anybody's driveway for free - aside from a couple bucks in electrical tape... They also kept the spare tire hoist access cover from my truck.
The two hard lessons I learned and that you can benefit from here: Do your homework before you take your vehicle into them for service. It's a shame you have to practically be an expert on the thing you want them to fix but they won't offer the best repair/service option for you - they'll offer the one that benefits them the most financially.
Check everything they do to make sure they put back what they take off - I can't imagine having anything done with my brakes or tires here - I'd be afraid they'd forget the lug nuts or brake pads!
And just for reference, they don't charge by the precise amount of time they actually have your vehicle under their care. They either start charging the minute you check in with them and give them the keys OR they round up to the nearest hour instead of charging for the precise amount of time they work on your vehicle. Mine was in their shop for about 2.5 hours and they charged me for 3 hours labor.
4/30/2024 Update: Nothing but lip service from Lake's reply to my review. Nobody has contacted me. Full disclosure - I tried working with the service manager, Zach Adams, before posting my review. However, when I proposed what I thought was fair, he stopped responding.
What I proposed was a refund of half the bill and that still had me paying them for 1.5 hours labor - more than enough to diagnose the damaged wires (easily visible from under the truck) and replace the harness instead of taping wires together.
And to whomever wrote Lake's reply - you're partially right but instead of misconceptions or misunderstandings, there were too many assumptions made. First, I assumed an OEM dealer would give me the best solution to my problem (even if it was overpriced). Instead, I got the least quality repair possible at the highest cost possible.
And second, your service department assumes electrical tape is the best method to repair wiring and that backyard mechanic repairs justify $130 an...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI got this truck from Lake Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram back in June. Specifically, i sent the down payment on 6/6/25, I had the truck delivered from Pennsylvania to Ohio on 6/13/25 sight unseen. I was also told on 6/6/25 by the salesman that the truck was looked over & serviced & that there were no problems found. However when it got to me the salesman told me that the radio was having problems, sometimes skipping songs by itself. That same weekend on 6/14/25 I was turning in an alley, lights across the dash & radio cut out & my power steering went out for a quick second. I told the salesman the day that happened. Ever since I got the truck it pops up āstabilitrak turned on or offā when Iām driving & the power cuts out a second. On 7/30/25 I was turning down a road & again everything shut off but this time, my motor shut off on me completely along with my power steering completely locking up to the point that I had to slam my breaks to stop myself from going in the field on the other side of the road. On 8/1/25 I was pulling out of work & I started hearing a bad knocking noise along with the check engine light flashing at me. I had it towed home & diagnosed which it came back saying about the engine misfiring, & a load of electrical issues. I made the purchase when the truck had 129,xxx miles, when it was delivered it had 130,xxx miles on it, it now sits with 134,xxx miles needing major motor work. Iāve been in contact with the dealer, but it seems like theyāre half willing to help, the shop I took it to said heās under the impression theyāre not going to cover anything. I did buy the vehicle āas isā however I made my first payment on the truck the same week it broke down, didnāt even get to put 5k miles on it now Iām $17k in the hole for a truck I got to drive for a month & half before the motor decided it was done. To say the least, Iām very unsatisfied with my purchase & disappointed in this dealership for selling a vehicle they claimed had no issues before arrival. Definitely donāt recommend buying from Lake Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram as they might not take care of you if youāre vehicle is faulty from the day of purchase. Thanks...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAs I write this review I am sitting in a broken down van I bought from this dealership a few months ago. We went in right before closing. We were rushed through all the paper work at lighting speed. Once I got home and actually had a minute to read everything. I noticed an extras had been added on. Over $5000 worth. I called and asked them to be removed. Not realizing some of it was the add on warranty. So here I sit. Over an hour away from home. Just got off the phone with Lake and they said there was nothing they could do to help me. I am so very very disappointed in every single step of the process with this company. This vehicle has less than 100k on it. The salesman was very shady, actually he straight lied to me. The company does not stand behind the cars they sell. I am highly distressed about getting my family home and being able to get back and forth to work. But good for you guys at Lake for selling another car and making that bottom line ! I hope you sleep well at night. Because yinz have screwed me. Buyer beware of this company. I hope this review reaches many eyes
ā------------- This part is an edit, added in after lakes response.
Had you not acted with deceit in the first place. I would still have that warranty. I called and asked for the extra thousands of dollars to be removed. The ONLY thing I would have kept was the warranty. I didn't realize alot of things about what was happening at the time. Such as that warranty being removed, and whatever else was left in. Because even after i asked for removal there were STILL extra charges. I should have been brought back in to go over the new paperwork. This is what happens when your stealing feom people and telling them lies.
Disgusted...
