**AVOID LIKE LIFE DEPENDS ON IT BECAUSE IT MIGHT** Lake auto is not Better business bureau accredited. They have 5 pending court cases at the time of looking this up. They do not clean or repair any vehicles for sale. They dont care about their reputation or customer satisfaction or saftey. Every vehicle under 20k has significant mechanical issues and can not pass inspection. Some even have the check engine light on some they just clear with a obd2 scanner available on amazon or local autopart stores. Both vehicles that i got within 100-200 miles the cel light came on. i paied $12223.25 on a lincoln mkc defective engine coolant leak intrusion causing misfire white smoke engine shaking uncontrollably random shut off while driving and fires. They estimated 9k to repair. They refused to give a refund. It took almost 90 days to find a replacement because every vehicle had severe mechanical and saftey issues which they refuse to address. I paied $14925.95 for a chevy tahoe once again within 100-200 miles the cel came on. This time 7 dtc codes, the a/c, headlights, interior lights stopped working. The gascap, windshield wipers and ac compressor needs to be replaced. The oem floormats were missing and dollar store floor mats were in there. They dont care about customers or their reputation. They do less then the bare minimum. I will be filing formal complaints with the state dealership board, department of motor vehicles, FTC, NHTSA, and state attorney general as well as leaving reviews on google, yelp, cargurus, cars.com and every other site possible. **IF YOU CARE FOR YOUR LOVED ONES DO NOT GO HERE** (Too many screenshots to post) *reply* so your response is to gaslight and victim blame? If that was actually written by the owner why not just use your name & use your google account? So your gaslighting saying it was all my doing within 24 hrs and 100-200 miles of leaving the lot that many issues end up in the STORED CODES section as well as the pending codes section? So your willing to let people test drive for over 100 miles so that the previous "clear dtc codes" button has time to reset? The new obd2 scanners have date and time stamps of each erase just fyi. And you might want to take it up with the courts because its a google search of a government public record. So if you stand behind your vehicles and repairs that means your willing to complete all the repairs for free then, as they were just purchased? And why do i have tons of screenshots of my conversation stating you do not and will not do any repairs prior to sale of all those other vehicles ? All you do is an oil change, even the windshield wipers were not replaced or gas cap the cheapest possible repairs in existence. Why hasnt bill or luke (or anyone at all) reached out to address issues after sending numerous automatic mass produced generic robo signed letters? I heard if i leave a review i get free floormats and complimentary air freshener which i never recieved.... Even the car wash place isnt that cheap.

Just make sure you thoroughly inspect the vehicle and don't make assumptions about what you're noticing. When looking at the truck I bought, I noted some kind of spray on undercoating had been applied to the underneath of the front end...shocks, springs, wheel well liners, etc. Because it was a plow vehicle, I assumed it was done by the previous owner. I also noted the tires had some weather cracking on the tread lugs. I mentioned the weather cracking to the salesman and asked if they would put new tires on the truck as part of the deal. He replied that the tread depth was ok so no tires with the deal. I also asked about some kind of discount to have new tires installed and the price they quoted was about the same as getting them from someplace like TireRack.com so not really any discount. Today while doing some maintenance to the front brakes (I noted they were sticking a bit while moving the plow to a new storage location) I noticed the oil filter also had the spray on liner material on it. So, either Lake didn't change the oil filter when they serviced the truck (oil on dipstick looks clean although the oil service life in truck says 12%) OR Lake applied the spray liner material to cover up a lot of rust under front end of truck. Moral of the story is don't go there expecting them to have your best interest in mind. They either didn't do a thorough job with servicing the vehicle by not replacing the oil filter OR they used a spray liner material to hide the condition of the vehicle. And, they don't have a problem selling you a $33k vehicle with tires that are not safe to operste the truck with and should not have passed state inspection with the cracks in the tire sidewalls (especially on a 3/4 ton truck).

My husband David and I purchased a used vehicle today from Lake Ford in Lewistown and we couldn’t be happier. We had made an appointment the previous day and salesman Evan Renninger met us at the door knowing our names! That was a first for us. He was friendly, easy going and patient with all of our questions. The van was newly acquired by the dealership, and had not yet been “run through the shop” but when we showed interest in test driving it and were traveling a distance, We discovered he had expedited the process of mechanical approval before we arrived. That’s customer service!! Paperwork was smooth, easy and fast with Evan making sure we understood everything we were signing, and when he saw the fuel tank was low, he took the van and got gas in it for us before handing us the keys. We appreciate everything he did for us and told him so, and that he has a bright future there! Thanks Lake for a great car and great young salesman!

I rarely leave reviews; however, I'm compelled to share my experience in case you are looking for a dealership that does more than pay lip service. We recently helped our son purchase a new Maverick at Lake Ford. Following the purchase, we received a letter from the principal of the company, asking that we call and share any negative experience before we fill out the all-important Ford survey. Since I wrote the check, I contacted the principal. I left a polite message indicating that we had had a negative experience and asked that he call me back. I'll share not only the arrogance of not receiving a phone call after 2 messages but also what our negative experience was. When we gave our deposit for the vehicle, I asked for the exact cost including tax and all extras. I made clear that I did not what to drive two hours to discover any hidden fees. When we arrived and closed on the vehicle, the F&I person had already written up a bill of sale with a price more than $40 higher than what we were quoted. He did not bother to mention that before asking my son to sign it and for me to write him a check. As soon as I mentioned the discrepancy, he said he was well aware of it and that the person who quoted me had made a mistake on a registration fee. I had merely wanted an opportunity to tell the principal that from my experience, when a business mistake is on my end, I don't expect the person who already asked for an upfront disclosure of a price to pay for that mistake. Whether the principal wanted to refund the 40 plus dollars or not was less important to me than the very owner of the dealership showing he cared enough about his customer to give the common courtesy of a return phone call and hear him out, a customer who had written him a $28,000 check. But two weeks passed and the principal did not return my phone call, which was ironically a response to his letter asking for it. I contacted the gentleman who sold us the vehicle and he said that his boss must have been busy or out of town but that he would have him call me as soon as possible. Several months later, now convinced how cavalier the ownership of this dealership is, I'm leaving this review. Lake Ford checks the boxes of pretending they care, but doesn't have the common courtesy of returning phone calls after they've already gotten their check. Strangely, my son has not yet gotten his survey from Ford. He is now following with Ford to find out why he was not given that opportunity. When he gets that survey, he will leave an honest review. Find someplace where they aren’t too “busy” to return your calls after they...

YES HELP US LAKE DEALERSHIP WE WOULD LIKE TO TALK TO BILL LAKE HIMSELF WE HAVE ASKED AND ASK AND ASK, BILL YOU'VE HAD THIS DEALERSHIP FOR A LONG LONG TIME YOU'VE SERVED A LOT OF PEOPLE IN THIS COMMUNITY. I HAVE A LITTLE SISTER THAT PURCHASED A USED CAR FROM YOU. THAT USED CAR HAS BEEN IN YOUR GARAGE MORE THAN SHE'S OWNED IT SINCE LAST JULY. WE HAVE ASKED AND LEFT MESSAGES FOR BOTH YOU, BILL AND LUKE TO CALL US AND MEET WITH US. NOW IT'S JULY AGAIN AND YOUR COMPANY IS TELLING MY LITTLE SISTER THAT SHE NEEDS BRAND NEW TIRES, SHE NEEDS A MUFFLER, SHE NEEDS ROTORS... JUST TO HAVE AN INSPECTED... NOW YOU'VE HAD IT MORE AT YOUR DEALERSHIP THAN SHE'S HAD IT TO USE. IT'S BROKE DOWN ON HER SEVERAL TIMES. SHE'S MISSED WORK BECAUSE OF IT. ON AND ON AND ON NOW. I THINK YOU'RE A REASONABLE PERSON AND I WOULD LIKE FOR YOUR DEALERSHIP TO CALL US AND CONTACT US DIRECTLY NOT THROUGH ONE OF YOUR SALESMEN, LIKE BOB. YOU HAD HIM CALL MY SISTER AND SAY THAT SHE NEEDS TO HAVE HER RENTAL CAR BACK TOMORROW OR ELSE???SHE'S A SINGLE WOMAN SHE NEEDS TO RELY ON A VEHICLE. SHE TRUSTED THE COMMUNITY AND YOUR DEALERSHIP TO DO RIGHT BY HER. NOW HAVING IT BREAK DOWN IT'S UNDERSTANDABLE, IT'S A USED CAR. OKAY. THE FIRST TIME, THE SECOND, TIME THE THIRD TIME AND NOW YOU'RE SAYING? WELL WE'LL JUST SLAP SOME TIRES ON AND GIVE YOU A MUFFLER AND OUT THE DOOR YOU GO AND TOO BAD YOUR WARRANTIES UP NOW??? SHE HAS FOUR MORE YEARS NOW TO PAY ON THIS. SHE'S PAID FOR A YEAR, SHE HASN'T HAD THE USE OF THE VEHICLE CORRECTLY. MR LAKE, I'D REALLY APPRECIATE IF YOU CALL US. PLEASE STOP AVOIDING US AND STOP HAVING YOUR SALES PEOPLE CONTACT US AND TELL US THAT NOW YOU'RE NOT GOING TO TALK TO US DIRECTLY...LET'S KEEP THIS COMMUNITY A GOOD COMMUNITY AND YOU'RE DEALERSHIP THE SAME WAY. I WOULD APPRECIATE A CALL BACK. ASAP. NOT SURE HOW ELSE TO DO THIS. LEAVING MESSAGES FOR OVER A MONTH AND A HALF TO RESOLVE THIS AND MY SISTER HAVING A RENTAL CAR FOR A MONTH AND A HALF, JUST THIS TIME ALONE, NOT TO MENTION THE 3 OTHER TIMES. NOTHING IS RESOLVED AND NOBODY WILL TALK TO US DIRECTLY, NOT A GOOD BUSINESS PRACTICE. THANK YOU MR LAKE...WE LOOK FORWARD TO HEARING FROM YOU. YOU, BILL LAKE, THE OWNER OF THE BUSINESSES AS FAR AS WE UNDERSTAND THANK YOU We're still waiting to meet with Bill Lake. He's had his salesman call us today to say "he is refusing to talk with me and my sister, and...
