A & A Rockshop — Local services in Lexington

I stopped in yesterday just to show my friend from out of state ajd a huge crystal and gem fan what you guys had. I first dealt with a super sweet woman that was very helpful and showed me a really unique piece of hers and just overall made me feel right at home. Then I went to ask a question and was met by a different person who was equally friendly and Extremely helpful!! She answered all my zillion questions and if she didnt know she quickly and cheerfully looked it up for me! Ashley went out of her way to help me and went far above any expectations I had when I first entered. I have been in a few other times over the years but after yesterdays experience with Ashley I will absolutely be a regular customer as well as my out of state friend I had on video chat! Not only did the wonderful girls working here make an impression on me but they also succeeded in sending a little of A&A all the way to Illinois and she will be shopping with you guys again one way or another!! I have been eyeing this location for a very long time and finally had the chance to visit. I was excited about the selection of items they had but many were overpriced, poor quality (for the price), or coated in a clear lacquer that makes the raw specimens look off-putting.

I wanted to give it the benefit of the doubt because I can tell the people who work here love crystals and minerals, but when I got the $30 fossil bucket and a tumble bucket, I was absolutely heartbroken. My fiancee got a measly couple of fossils and 90% of my tumbled stones were dyed. We had no idea that this place existed until someone told us about it. They have two shops and both are awesome. They have all kinds of treasures.

My daughters loved the gem sluicing... we did the $20 buckets and each had LOTS of gems and surprises in them. One did the sharks teeth one and was amazed by how many she found.

On our next visit we did the cave mining simulation. The kids loved that even more! It was a real adventure for them and they came out with really cool gems.
