Town & Country Supermarket — Local services in Licking

After reading some of the previous reviews there was high hopes of this place being remotely decent, I was wrong.

Rude and incompetent staff members, was asking where a product was located only to be walked across the whole store by a couple of employees. Finally make it to the check out line and the cashier and bag person are having a good conversation while I load my items on the belt. Idk, maybe I'm just kind of quiet or something, I just expected her to start ringing me up when I was full. No they finished the last bit of their conversation and then proceeded to help me.

The prices people are talking about are by far not low, maybe the lowest prices in Licking... But you have Salem, Rolla, and Houston right next door and if you're needing a lot of groceries you're better off going somewhere else. They run these "deals" on 24 packs of soda... The price on sale is walmart static...

The store is good in a pinch. All stores raise their prices, including WM, T & C raise their prices higher, which forces people to shop at WM. I went one year to get some potato salad to take to a friends house for thanksgiving dinner. When I get to the register, the girl says $8.99, I didn’t about it really, just paid her and left. On my way to my friends house I thought it “boy, that’s kind of expensive for a small container”. Went in the next day to check the price, it was $2.29, not 8.99. Like I said, only shop there in an emergency. I have gotten gr. beef there that was gray/green in the center,, but in all fairness, I have gotten some meat that was good. If they would lower there prices to WM level, I would shop there more...

This is a great supermarket. It’s our small towns store. I usually know everyone working in there. But the owners/ and managers I have known my whole life. They are awesome people and make the visit worth it with there smiles..along with everyone that works there. My favorite place is deli of course. Who doesn’t like a deli…? The lady (Stephanie) that works there is always helpful and friendly. She is definitely missed on days that she is scheduled off. Way to go...
