The Book Cellar — Local services in Lincoln

Called on Tuesday to inquire if the owner had D-G of the Sue Grafton alphabet series. Asked if she would hold for me until Wednesday. Not a problem. Went at 10:30. She had pulled the books and wiped them down That’s all the technical stuff.

What made the visit memorable was how neat the store was when I entered. Wish I could have gotten the used book smell but my mask made that difficult. I then met the owner, a beautiful parrot (might be wrong about the type of bird). The clerk (the real owner) greeted me with a pleasant “Good morning, can I help you find a book”. She (wish I had gotten her name) was friendly, outgoing, and knew what I wanted as soon as I asked. I think used book sellers are a special breed of bibliophile. They are passionate about what they do.

My recommendation is a positive 10/10 so...

This is a local business and my experience I just had! I would suggest everyone go in at least once and check it out super cute book store right here in our little town.

Just had the most AMAZING experience at THE BOOK CELLAR!! Took my two young girls in to pick out a new book each, with their new books in hand we went to the counter to pay and that’s when I noticed they do not accept credit or debit cards. As I’m telling my girls we will come back later to get them the owner told me they will not have them leave empty handed so it’s on the house! Such a sweet lady and business owner her kindness is unheard of these days! This is the place to go when searching for a book. Wonderful owner and staff. Yall helped me pick out a couple of great reads for getting back into reading. I initially was overwhelmed by the tight space and not knowing where to go or navigate the bookstore itself, but the options are endless. Book prices are half cover cost, which can be a little steep compared to other used book stores so if you’re on a budget like I was you’ll have to sift through to find books that initially were less expensive. If you have any questions the staff are eagerly waiting to assist and tell you different plots or different genres of books to help you find what you’re interested in.
