Michaels — Local services in Livermore

I'm super pissed sitting here in 95° heat, about to cry, 25 miles from my house. I know for alot of people will say I'm dramatic or I should just shop online, but I have been waiting for all the spooky holiday crap and I like to see them, hold them and think about how it would look....but I have been suffering with debilitating pain that makes walking a few feet excruciatingly painful. Michael's Livermore is the only location that has a mobility cart but for some reason they don't want to keep it charged. For the longest time it was broken and then the battery needed replacement. Depending on who you speak with there are a number of excuses. I called and talked to the manager and they assured me it was working it's just in the back but the unhappy blonde chick up front was all "nope it was used and the battery is dead". I used to enjoy coming here, but something has changed, maybe it's management. I don't know but I'm done now. I miss Joann's so much. They were so kind. This place is a mess and the staff ... well the staff is...

I had stopped visiting because of experience I had months ago- where I was sold an as is product that was broken and not clearly marked and cashier told me I could return 😂 it was so annoying and they could have easily apologized and gave me the small $ amount at least in a credit, but they didn’t.

Then we went back today and after finally making our way to the cashier we discovered that items marked on sale- weren’t on sale and so we had to go back through and choose other items for our project. Staff wasn’t interested in performing what I would consider honoring the price or maybe a discount, even though the entire shelf still clearly listed the sales price for all items 😆 ...they didn’t even pretend to be apologetic. Was very frustrating. 😳 and we will need to start going a little further to shop an alternate craft store (but not on Sundays lol) or take all our business to Amazon which is usually consistently cheaper. We want to support local but ...

I usually love just browsing this store but I was looking for two things in particular that day, macrame jute, and suncatchers. They did not carry either product except for a few "Donald Duck" suncatchers. I didn't think these were really strange items to expect to find at Michael's especially when their name pop ups when you Google, "where to buy macrame jute in Livermore." I was really disappointed. I haven't done Macrame in years but usually you can find whatever you need in craft supplies at Michael's. The one employee I asked to help me locate these items called some other person who quickly gave the location of where the products would be if they carried them, but to no avail. Usually the line at the cash register is long but not this time. You will always get a discount coupon when you checkout, so buy something, get your coupon and finish your shopping to save money. Usually a store I very much enjoy but...
