I really like this gym but we only draw backs are their lack of timely exercise classes, they don't even have a Zumba, I'm also a dancer and I really enjoy using mirrored moons and at the YMCA they have a few mirrored rooms that you can use as long as there's no one in them. They have two married rooms, one has exercise equipment in it which could be in another room but for some reason they threw it in there and I can't use my tablet when there's somebody else in the room out of respect for the people in there. Plus it says you can't record anything. So there's another room that's the main room for their exercise classes but for some reason they have all their equipment out in the open and it's not locked up and they said their equipment walks away so they had to lock that room and not allow anyone in there when there were no exercise classes. There's a significant amount of time when there's no exercise classes so the room is not being used at all, I tried to use the room and they told me I needed to rent the room and when I went to rent the room they said that I can't without insurance it was a ridiculous run around. So I have a gym membership where I can't use the main reason I got the gym membership. I did use their water aerobics which was great and a lot of fun, the staff and the members were so welcoming and made sure I was okay and enjoying myself. Honestly that's the only reason they got a three because I'm not using the gym for...
Read moreThis place is more of a community/rec center than a typical gym. There are already lots of positive reviews on Google so I'll start off with reasons why you might NOT want to come here:
-Terrible weight room often overcrowded from 5pm to 8pm. Outdated, limited equipment. If you are at least semi-serious about lifting weights, you are better off at any other commercial gym. -If you are not affiliated with Loma Linda, membership is expensive. If you are using the full extent of all the facilities though, it's still decent value. -Table tennis and tennis courts are rarely ever available and seem to be monopolized by a few groups of regulars that are always there. -Limited weekend hours. I get they close for Sabbath but I wish they could open just a bit longer on Friday and also bring back the later hours on Sunday.
To be fair, here are the great things about this place:
-Nice community of members and friendly staff. People are pretty considerate about wiping off equipment -Wide variety of sports and facilities available -Great pool especially for lap swimming (gets overcrowded in the summer because of all the kids programs though). Also the spa/jacuzzi tends to get crowded too. -Great pickle ball community (in fact this seems like the only thing the Drayson Center cares about improving) -Group fitness classes are included as a part of...

Pickleball classes and lessons offered. I just joined just to play with the excellent variety of pickle players. The staff are friendly and facility well maintained and they even recently got some new gym equipment. Because it's part of the university they often offer free health screenings by students and free seminars offered by the health professionals from LLU which are very...
