I don’t usually do this but right is right...I was loyal to this braid shop for about 3 years. When I wanted braids this is where me and Mia went. Faithfully. Majority of the time I’m waiting outside for someone to show up to do our hair because they are never on time. Owner says it’s not her fault, her workers are not reliable...(her own words in a text). I’ve drove 45 min, I’ll be on time, just to be asked if I can come back in two hours because the person called in sick. My hair was done incorrectly for my bday (I sent pics to my friends and family and they got a great laugh) and I had to take the hair down and go to my personal stylist...lots of time and money wasted. Because these things have been done frequently I’ve asked for some sort of discount. Each time I was told ‘no’ This morning, I again decided to give them another chance, drove an hour , just to wait another hour because no one showed up...again knowing this would be my last time ‘I took a deep breath and just asked if a discount could be given seeing that this keeps happening because my time is valuable, I set early appointments for a reason’ I again was told ‘no’ and got a text while I was halfway home from the owner saying again ‘I’m sorry, it’s not my fault, but she is there now’ I said ‘if I turn around am I getting a discount’ I’m actually already home and still didn’t get a response back. That was 45 minutes ago and my appointment was at 11am. I won’t go into detail about one of the workers always asking myself or my daughter to text people on her phone back for her while she does our hair...OR another worker who always asks me for a ride to the store when she finishes my hair.... *Dont spend your money on businesses that don’t appreciate their customers, or take ownership when their workers ‘are not reliable’

My appointment was at 6am. I was stuck behind several semi-trucks on the way to a place I had never been before and received a call from them at 6:01 asking if I was still coming. The woman who was doing my hair, the owners aunt, misinterpreted how long I wanted my twists, which she couldn't fix properly becsuse they still burn ends at this place. The ends look horrendous and they catch on everything. To make matters worse, I have only had them in for a WEEK and a twist IN THE FRONT has ALREADY FALLEN OUT! My experience with them was awful. Take a note, ladies, coffee and garlic, are not good things to consume when you are working so closely to someone's face. Or better yet, DO NOT EAT while doing hair! In that same vein, take a shower. Never have I been somewhere where so many women stank. Keep your conversations work appropriate if you're going to speak in English. I do not want to feel pressured to leave a bigger tip, because you all are complaining about people not tipping. And maybe do a job worth earning a tip. You do unsatisfactory work, YOU DO NOT GET A TIP. And speaking of money, asking a new client to pay you less than halfway through her head is disrepectful. You are lucky I paid you at all. Especially after you left to go get food, took randomly long breaks and then pouted for nearly 10 minutes when I expressed my discomfort at having your knuckle in my eye! A style that should have taken 6 1/2 hours, took 9. You had the audacity to demand my to a picture for your shop after you didn't even style the twists like, I asked. And even had the nerve to look surprised when I refused. NEVER GO...
Read moreThe 1st thing I was asked by Fatima was to make sure I gave her shop a good review. This was before she even finished braiding my hair! I feel obligated to tell the truth since this is a business where women spend their money for a service. If you read the reviews closely you'll notice that there are 2 reviews written by Viola Bloway & Madelene Pivi....they work for and live wth Fatima so their reviews can't be trusted! I got my hair braided on September 17th its not even been 2 months and my hair looks like all hell broke loose! I have personally witnessed phonecalls from previous customers angry about the same thing. This shop does not have a good reputation for doing hair. I only tried this shop because it was close to my house. Big mistake! I think the most annoying thing is that while they have customers that are being serviced there's a great ora of disrespect in speaking their native language instead of english. The african music is just the icing on the cake. Their main goal is to collect money instead of focusing on the service that they were paid for which is very unprofessional. I don't mind spending money to look good...but there's a problem when I don't get what I paid for! Before going here I drove 1hour to get my hair done....and it was worth the gas and money! Like so many past customers...I WILL NEVER RETURN!!! This is not the place you want to...
