Was pleasantly surprised by this sushi place! The outside/exterior of the building is really misleading, as it looks a bit worn down, but the interior and the food are the complete opposite! The inside is so nice, clean, and pretty. And the sushi is actually REALLY good! I would come here again and definitely recommend checking this place out. A great place to get together for a family or friends dinner/sushi date.
We went on a Sunday afternoon, so it was completely empty, and we were the only customers there the entire time. (I'm guessing it's because dinner time is when the rush happens.) The staff were really friendly and constantly checked up on us. The service was really quick. They served the sushi on a boat, which was really cute and aesthetically pleasing.
Two constructive criticisms from my end: 1) personally, I felt like the sushi pieces were a bit big, which isn't actually a problem for everyone, but I feel like my mouth is a bit small. It still tasted good though! And secondly, the miso soup was too salty, but if it were a little less salty, it...
Read moreThis is not a positive review: Most importantly the food was great, although the wait times for my appetizer and sushi roll were an attrocious 15-20 mins. The steak and rangoon were overcooked for my taste. I would've preferred my steak medium; it came out extra well done. My rangoon was brown crunchy, I like mine yellow and tender. Staff should definitely start asking how guests would like their menu items cooked. I did not enjoy the tacky clipart on the walls, some typical linen art or vegetation wouldve been way more pleasing to the eye. The radio selection is lacklustering bland and not in tune with the theme or class of the restaurant and lacking in audio quality as if coming from a Big Lots $20 bluetooth speaker from afar. Despite my best efforts to eat cleanly, the food crumbs got on table, a paper covering wouldve been nice. And for gods sake, they use the cheapest chopsticks Ive ever seen in my life. Some reusable/washable wouldve been nice. So many little things did not go right, but overall nothing...
Read moreThe food is not 'bad' but there were enough issues that I doubt we would go back. First, they brought out only 1 of our entrees before the appetizer we ordered. We had to ask about the appetizer. Second, that appetizer (fried spring rolls) was very greasy and had almost nothing inside; also they only give you 2 rolls in spite of the small size. Third, my sashimi entre actually included imitation crab--does that really qualify as a sashimi item? Lastly, my husband's entre didn't show up until a half hour after they plunked down the sashimi--again, we had to ask about it. And although he requested NO MSG, he later had all the symptoms of an MSG reaction, so they clearly didn't omit it. Very spotty service and some...
