Last week, I had a very poor experience at this shop. The staff at amazing comics & cards are rude and completely uninterested in helping customers—if you’re not a regular, expect to be ignored. I was hoping to get a gift for my 7 year-old son as he's a huge fan of the marvel comics, particularly iron man. However, upon looking at some of the prices, I quickly realized that a majority of the items are a total rip-off, with common items marked up to absurd levels. The selection is pretty sparse, mostly junk or damaged goods. When I got back to my car and did some digging online, it seems like the best stuff is apparently hoarded for friends of the workers and owners of the store. This place is a waste of time and money—do yourself a favor and avoid it at all costs. I wouldn't be surprised if they go out of business in a year or two. Anything but "amazing". I don't usually leave reviews but this experience was so striking that I was...
Read moreGreat selection, but apparently, acknowledging customers isn’t part of the job description here! My cousin and I walked in, excited to browse, only to be met with... absolutely nothing. Not a hello, not a nod, not even one of those awkward retail smiles. Just pure, unfiltered invisibility.
Now, I’d love to believe they were just super immersed in the latest issue of Superman, but considering we were the only ones in the store, it felt a little weird. Maybe they only acknowledge customers who look like they stepped out of a 90s comic book ad? Or maybe we triggered their cloaking device? Either way, as two Asians who love comics, it was an uncomfortable experience.
Amazing selection, but I prefer my comic shops with a side of basic human interaction. Maybe next time, I’ll wear a cape and see...
Read moreEvery time Ive exciteably walked in eager to buy a new title or run, theyre OUT of what SHOULD be there or just released that day, and/or excuses why they dont! Call or look around! There are a select few REAL shops that have it all on any given day, plus store clerks arent as slumbering or mundane as this quote "amazing" place dishes out on the norm! Owner is ok,but lacking comm. skills needed to sell his Overpriced collectables and actually make a solid sale. I used to live 4 blks away from this place,so it was good to have a close connection to get my comic fix. Done with the garbage man, and back to my old L.A. hook up ,or this newer shop in Artesia that is WORTH the extra drive coming from L.B.! Make no mistake, U shouldn't have to settle for zero when U can get alot more...
