Extremely disappointed by the employees at the store. My husband and I noticed this store as we had to go next store to get some items and we both were excited to see what they had. Very REI vibes with things like Patagonia, Hoka's, sporting equipment. The building itself is 3 stories and the sales associates in the shoe area were very pleasant which is why they even get any stars. We decided to buy two pairs of Hoka's and per the signs on the shoes, it looked like they were on sale. Never having been to the store before we didn't know that they have their own rewards card that gives you discounts off on items. So we took our shoes to the front to check out and the price of the shoes were full price. We asked the cashier in the front who said that the items were not on sale and called someone on the phone to ask. She didn't even tell us yes or no and just said " this is ur total ". Then we had to ask again, was it on sale? And she rolled her eyes and just said nope. No explanation no nothing. We went to take a picture of the shoes showing the sale price and went back in line. Another cashier told us that the deal listed was in fact not a sale price but the price they offer if u join their reward program. We understood and thanked her, spent over $300 on the shoes and I asked if I could get the name of the other girl because she was rude. That is when the tone of the other girl changed and she told me that they do not have names. The receipt showed her name as Elliotte. I asked for a manager to just let them know that explaining things to brand new customers would be more beneficial than the attitude the other girl gave. Was told by Elliotte that the store also has no manager and bye! Have a nice day and u can leave. I called the corporate number who advised that they did in fact have a manager and they advised for me to go inside and ask for them per their helphub who is requiring it. We spoke with the manager, John I believe who apologized for the rude service and we calmly just let him know that new customers won't understand their stores lingo and a little kindness would have gone a long way. He thanked us for not being rude, yelling or acting unreasonable and we declined anything further. We weren't looking to get a free deal we were just really bothered by the girls and their attitudes. But we won't be coming back here and will just drive the extra 15 minutes to go to REI where the customer...

I recently shopped at Sports Basement in Long Beach and was thoroughly impressed on how clean and organized the place is and was also impressed with the selection and competitive pricing. I went in Sports Basement looking to upgrade my snowboard boots. I didn't have to go looking for an associate as I was immediately greeted by Nate in the ski/snowboard boots area I think its called the Backcountry area. I explained to Nate my criteria for snowboard boots. He fitted me and without hesitation went in the back and pulled a couple of boots from different brands multiple times. Throughout the process Nate was very patient and professional asking questions about boot fitting and any slight discomfort I may be feeling. Boot fitting can be a lengthy process. I had my 9 year old son with me and I could tell he was getting a little restless. Nate noticed it too and started asking him questions regarding sports and other interests he may have. I thought that was great of Nate to get my son involved so he didn't bored while daddy was trying on boots. We eventually found what I felt is the best fitting boot for me and can't wait to try them once the snow season starts. Overall, I was totally blown away by the exceptional service provided and what felt like a personalized attention I received from Nate. I would highly recommend Sports Basement to anyone looking for a sporting goods store with knowledgeable and outstanding service. Anyone looking for snowboard boots...

Remarkable Customer Service at Sports Basement

I had an amazing experience at Sports Basement, and I have to give a big shout-out to Peter for making my visit truly memorable. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with friendly faces and a welcoming atmosphere. Peter was the one who helped me find the perfect size and model for my snowboard boots, and I couldn't be more pleased with his expertise.

Peter answered all my questions with thorough knowledge and was always ready with a clear explanation of why certain boots or features would suit my needs. He didn’t just give me a quick answer—he took the time to ensure I fully understood my options. On top of that, he was incredibly patient as I tried on different boots and worked through what felt best for me.

This was by far the best customer service experience I’ve had. Peter’s professionalism, friendliness, and attention to detail made the entire process smooth and enjoyable. I left with not only the perfect boots but also an arch support sole to complete my setup.

Thank you, Peter, for your outstanding service. Sports Basement definitely earned a loyal...

I recently brought my bike into Sports Basement for a tune-up, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. Sean and team provided top-notch service from start to finish. They took the time to understand exactly what my bike needed and made sure every detail was addressed. Not only were they incredibly knowledgeable, but they were also super friendly and welcoming, which made the entire process enjoyable. When I picked up my bike, it felt like new! Sean had taken care of every adjustment, and the ride was smooth and responsive. They even gave me a few tips on bike maintenance to keep it in great shape. It’s clear Sean is passionate about what he does, and his expertise shines through in the quality of the work. If you’re looking for a reliable place to service your bike, I highly recommend going to Sports Basement and asking for Sean. They’ll go above and beyond to make sure your bike is in perfect condition, and you’ll leave feeling confident and ready to hit the road!

I recently stopped by while in Long Beach for work, looking to get a new pair of snowboard boots. The experience was fantastic. Chris went above and beyond to ensure I found the right fit, taking the time to explain the features and benefits of each option. He was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and made the whole process enjoyable. Although I didn’t end up purchasing the boots because they didn’t have the color I wanted in stock, the customer service I received from Chris was top-notch. The store also has a great selection of snowboarding, skiing, outdoor, and sports equipment, making it a one-stop shop for outdoor enthusiasts. I’ll definitely be back and highly recommend stopping by if you’re in the area.
