NEVER AGAIN! I came here for Black Beauty grass seed. There's a HUGE sign that says 21.99, assorted varieties and there were 5 " sunny varieties " on the shelf. When I went to counter, it came up 24.99. The young girl asked the old, gray haired person, what the issue was. She cursed in general that it was a shitty day and looked at sign. She stated that price was ONLY if you were a member. So, I signed up and it STILL came up 24.99. She addressed the customer next to me because she apparently was in the wrong line, and cursed again. I asked if she was kidding or was this the way she addresses people. She ignored me. The young boy was called up to address my issue, saw the sign and stated my variety wasn't included even though EVERY other one was on shelf including 5 of mine. He gave it to me reluctantly for the 21.99 after I stated the store needs to update their shelves. The old woman was still mumbling how she hated her job after I commented how everyone in there seemed to hate their job. We went to Ace this evening for some paint samples for an interior project we are working on. We arrived thirty minutes before the store closed. I was worried we would be greeted with an eye roll at the request for five different samples. We experienced quite the opposite. Matt who was available to answer questions at the front of the store and Art (the manager who was helping us with paints) were lovely and very helpful. While we don’t live super close to this store, I plan to use it for this project and others. This is a reminder that the smaller stores really do offer a different kind of customer service and knowledge than what you sometimes get at big box stores and it’s a good thing to support these smaller establishments! It was 3:50 and the store is clearly posted that it closes at 4. I needed 3 bolts, 3 simple bolts and I was turned away. Curbside pickup doesn’t help, when I need to match nuts, bolts and washers for a size I’m uncertain of. You’re a hardware store! It was an emergency, I needed to add an additional cleat for my boat on a day that had high winds. I was in fear that Wind could damage my boat. Whomever was at the door was quick to say that they reopened at 7am. This store has small inventory but is a lot closer than other hardware stores. They rarely have everything I need but I know they did in this case. so now I have to go stand in line with 30 people at Home Depot in order to resolve a problem that could have been avoided if I was given better customer service.
