The customer service here isn't great.
The younger employees are friendly and helpful. I enjoy my experience when they're there. The older employees, however, are often rude or pretend they don't speak English when you ask them a question. They act as if you're a vagrant looking to steal something, and don't take complaints about aggressive panhandlers at their entrance seriously. It is not a language/cultural misunderstanding. The younger employees are also [bi/multi]lingual, and they are great at their jobs and always so nice.
Also, the older employees seem to selectively implement the promotional discounts on items. I just purchased 2 items on promo 20 minutes ago and called out the discrepancy when the I saw the discount wasn't applied. I even went and to the signage to reread it. The employee just nodded and went "oh", and proceeded to help the next person on another register, ignoring the complaint. It's happened a few times before, and always with an older employees.
This doesn't happen with the younger employees. A younger employee once forgot to apply a promo and caught himself before the purchase was finalized, and I really appreciated that. They communicate with just fine with a slow numerically challenged person such as myself, and always apply/alert me to promos on items.
Yes, I'm aware that it's relatively low ticket items. But that's not going to do your business any good if people feel like your employees are lying to them. I'm only writing a review now bc I made myself go in a look around while walking my dog, and thought I'd see how it went. Well, there we go, lol.
This location is near my apartment, but I rarely go bc of this. I'd rather walk to CVS or Pavilions a few blocks farther, bc at least I know I'll be treated like properly. It's a shame that a franchise owner allows employees to behave like that. Especially when you have other employees that are great.
Perhaps one of the managers can have a discussion about signage and promo pricing on the registers if they aren't sure how to apply discounts. A chat about customer service and how not every customer is a potential problem if they speak more the 5 sentences wouldn't be so...

Ā Ā Ā Read moreEDIT: STILL having same issues months later. Randomly close and lock the doors whenever they want. Sometimes let certain people in, but lock door for others. I just watched at least 20 people walk up to a brightly lit store, pull on the locked door, have the employee look up and shake his head, and then walk away.
There seems to be a trend of stores being 24 hours and then randomly deciding not to be whenever they feel like it. I came here two nights ago before work just fine, and now today, they āopen 6 o clock.ā
Maybe update the times on the site or post a sign.
Now I have to find ANOTHER store in LA that is open...
