Hampton Inn anywhere is a very safe choice for an outstanding value and quality. This one proves that rule and then some!
I loved the thoughtfully designed rooms with business friendly features, friendly and knowledgeable staff, and clean, pleasant environment. The area is very safe, though it may look like LA from the movies, and is very close, even by foot, to the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and several great restaurants. You must check out El Floridita and
Let's talk about the thoughtful design inside the rooms: I hate when they put the toilet paper behind you and you have to break your back and neck to reach it. Not here! I hate when I have to step out and across the whole bathroom to reach for a towel. Not here! I cannot stand glass on the work desk surface because a mouse doesn't work on it. Not here! Enjoy tons of charging outlets (USB and standard), large desk surface (especially in the King suite), and room to work out even in the room (they have a gym and a pool as well). The shower also had great water pressure, and adjustable shower head, along with the new wave of the soap, shampoo and conditioner dispensers.
I stayed in two types of rooms on the 4th floor, opposite sides of the building and in opposite direction of the elevator. The double queen was the first around the corner from the elevator, but I didn't hear it once. It was roomy, yet not wasteful, utilizing a barn door as a cover either for the bathroom, or the wardrobe with a personal safe, hangers and an ironing board. This room had a partial view of the downtown.
The King Suite was sweeeet! Very large, separated into a few 'sections', including a separate toilet with shower, and just outside, the sink. This room had a view of the parking lot below, so that sucked. But it wasn't loud or anything. Just not a pretty view is all.
The facility has a laundry room in site, a small convenience store, and good (not spectacular) free breakfast.
Did I mention the front desk staff was excellent? They let me stay in my first room past the checkout so that I can seamlessly move to the other. I had to extend my stay and the room I had wasn't available anymore.
Next time I'm in Hollywood, I'll definitely seek out this specific...
Read moreThis is the worst stay I’ve ever had in my life.
I had an accident outside of the hotel’s front door. At first, I went into the hotel and asked for the receptionist, Paul for assistance. During my conversation with Paul, I’ve informed him that I’m a guest staying at the hotel. Unfortunately, Paul refused to offer the help I requested.
One of the personnels, Zack came over to me and claim that he was the head of security for Hampton Inn. He asked me what happened, and I explained. However, Zack kept interrupting me in the middle of my speaking, and made some disrespectful comments. As I tried my upmost to address Zack with my problems and concerns, he broke my sentence all of the sudden and insultingly asked me: “Do you speak English?” I ended the conversation with Zack shortly because I found him to be irrational, unhelpful, and I felt that I’ve been discriminated.
The supervisor on duty later on came out and told me that Zack was a contractor. Thus, he doesn’t “belong” to the hotel management. Contractor or not, what Zack said was way out of line… and I’m shocked that the hotel refuses to take any part of responsibility of Zack’s behavior and comments. During the conversation I had with this supervisor, I also mentioned that I did not get the help I requested from the receptionist, Paul. All of the sudden, Paul started to be defensive and attempted to engage into my conversation with his supervisor. Paul yelled at me “It’s over (incident), I’m not going to argue with you anymore.” Paul didn’t stop interrupting the conversation until he was being stopped by his supervisor.
To be honest, I’m astonished with the attitude and treatment I got from this hotel. I’m staying at the Hampton’s because it’s a Hilton franchise, and this organization has been known for its excellence in service. Unfortunately from the interaction I had with two of your staffs, I strongly doubt if they received any proper training in service and communication. It seemed like the management allows their staffs to engage in an argument with their guests.
If I wanted to tolerate with such poor service and attitude, I could have just stayed at a motel. I may even have better luck with a 2...
Read moreCan I rate this is a zero? Worst hotel experience I have ever had. Please save yourself some grief and spend the extra $ to go to the Hilton down the road. I am just leaving this hotel to the airport and have a splitting headache and feel just plain drained from dealing with their ridiculousness for the last three days.
It started with no hot water in my room that never got resolved for my entire stay. The front desk staff seemed to be incompetent to deal with the situation. I had to go to another room to shower and they didn't even offer to bring me the key... so I had to tromp down to the front desk at 6 am in my PJ's and then go to another floor to shower in another room. Fabulous.
I had requested a late check out multiple times since I checked in and was given the run around for two days. Was told the morning of checkout that the latest they could give me was noon... really? that is a normal check out time. As a gold member I am supposed to have the perk of late checkout and noon is all they can give me? I asked if I could pay a discounted rate for the 2 extra hours and was told no... I would have to pay a full nights rate. I said I should be getting a comp night for the hot water issue, can I use that for the additional night? No. Was told the GM would contact me. When talking to him I realized why the front desk staff was not well trained. Obvious he has no customer satisfaction experience and had no desire to make this situation work for me. I tried to explain to him why I was so frustrated with the hot water experience.. honestly it wasn't even just the lack of hot water and that they didn't fix it when they were supposed to and I had to shower in another room both mornings... it was the way it was handled by his staff. He wanted to hear nothing of this. Dismissed and interrupted me. So rude.
They never bothered to ask WHY I needed a late check out. It was for health reasons but I wouldn't expect this staff to have any compassion.
Makes me reconsider my loyalty to Hilton and...
