Bodega R Ranch Market, which I just call Ranch Market, is the neighborhood bodega. Keep in mind this is not a luxury grocery store. They are in a lower income area but probably sell to a lot of your favorite street vendors. They have a huge selection of bakery items, butcher meats, hot foods, ice cream, cheese and other authentic “Latin” foods like Al Pastor, Marinaded Chicken, even store made pork rinds plus tons more. It’s a grocery store with so much more than just packaged groceries. I even found a great deal on socks! Most people would consider Ranch Market a “Hispanic” grocery store, I mean its name includes Bodega, but I have to say it’s got such great deals that I would call it the “good deal” grocery store.
My favorite section is the Panaderia. Why? It’s not just the huge selection of fresh cookies, pastries and cakes. It’s because sometimes I want to make my own sandwich and the Bolillo Rolls from here are a must have! Traditionally used for Mexican Sandwiches they don’t disappoint. These are crunchy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside and truly make any sandwich delicious. I buy them for my pastrami sandwiches but they work for anything especially sandwiches that have juices you want to have soak into the roll. Steaks, chickens or pork of course. Imagine the Tortas Roll from your favorite restaurant and...
Read moreI really wish they would take this market down and put a better market like Superior Grocers since it's so close to my house. The prices for food here is quite high and the quality isn't the best. Do not order the hot food here it is always stale and old but they have the nerve to charge a high price which is ridiculous. I've bought meat here once and the chicken stinks, even when cooking it at home like gross 🤢 I won't ever buy meat here again. My family doesn't come here often because we end up paying too much and you can find way better deals at other grocers for the same items you get here. I'm Mexican so I love Latino markets but this is the worst one I've ever visited to be...
Read moreThe only GOOD thing about this neighborhood market is that if you don't speak spanish, the staff does. Other then that the place is a little dirty and the security/loss prevention is a little TOOOOOOO much for me. The manager follows me around like a puppy... Yesterday, I had to ask an employee if the person following me was part of the R Ranch staff before I asked them why they were following me. The employee response was "yes, he is loss prevention." I have never seen them follow anyone else that resembles my complexion.... If someone from CORPORATE wants to reach to me, I am available for a...
