Moderate up and down trail offering views of Los Angeles, Hollywood, Glendale etc. Similar to the views from atop Griffith Park, but west of the Hollywood sign. The "Wisdom Tree," gained its name whether deservedly or not, by being the lone tree to survive the Hollywood Hills fire back in the late 2000s. This probably has to do with the fact that it is at the highest point of the hill, is not surrounding by much shrubbery, and has an attractive shape. Under the tree, are a couple boxes, filled with notes, letters, and momentos left by previous visitors.
Parking: Street parking along the street leading to Lake Hollywood, which is just a reservoir. Ample and depending how far down by the lake you park, you will have a longer walk up the sidewalk to get to the trailhead. Terrain: Narrow and rocky. Possible to take some hard tumbles, so watch your step in some places. All uphill / all downhill. One switchback. Other: At the top, the trail diverges. The left takes you to the Wisdom Tree and the right takes you to the Hollywood Sign.

Coming from Burbank Peak to the west you walk a largely flat path, there are some use and cutoff paths, but they are also quite flat.
Coming from the east and Mt Lee, there is a few short scramble sections (5-10' each). If you're hiking with children or animals, you may need to assist them on this section, especially if they are medium size or smaller. Both sections are close to the Cahuenga Peak trail marker #3 side of the trail.
Not as overgrown as some other sections of the Wonder View Trail. There's a good bit of invasive vine and shrub on the...
Read moreThough still part of Griffith Park, the Cahuenga Peak trail is much quieter than tourist hotspots. I climbed to the Hollywood Sign viewpoint and enjoyed panoramic vistas from downtown to Burbank. The trail was rugged and got steep the first mile, but never too difficult. I encountered only a couple of other hikers mid‑week. A breathtaking city view without the...
