After some of my friends told me about this place I finally decided to check it by myself. Its not like I live close to the facility but I heard nothing but good things, so I was curious. I've been practicing boxing since I was a kid in New York and I already trained in two top notch gyms in Los Angeles so I always expect the best when it comes to consumer service. BIG mistake. I called the gym this last Monday, some girl named Angela answered and she told me that she will call me back in 5 minutes; its Saturday and nobody contacted me back, even though during the week I've been calling and sending text messages. To my surprise, my 26 years old daughter called the place with her own phone number and she got a more than charming attention and a an invitation to assist to one of the boxing classes. I totally understand that in the phone I sounded like a 50 year blue collar old white guy with a thick New York accent and maybe I'm not the type of client they are looking for in this gym, something that really surprised me because Ive never suffered this kind of discrimination, specially when it comes to be a client, and trust me, I spend good money when I'm comfortable training in one place, so their lost. So my experience with this place couldn't be worse and for sure I would not recommend this gym to anybody, specially to old...
Read moreI’ve taken the boxing class, cardio fit class and I have even done his cleanse/bootcamp. Boxing is my favorite and might be personal preference…but I like that Jyima pushes me. Its usually a small class and he constantly correcting my technique to improve each class. Cardio fit, well what can I say. If you love cardio then this is the class for me. I personally hate cardio but he changes up the class every time so youre not just running on a treadmill for an hour. Almost like a mini bootcamp. The cleanse only works if you follow the meal plan! So FOLLOW the meal plan and you’ll do great!
Morning classes are best for parking purposes as there is almost always free street parking. Afternoon parking sucks. Street parking is already full as there is bars and restaurants surrounding the Jyim. There is valet parking right in front but you do have to pay. It works if you take a friend...
Read moreThe Jyim should really be called The GEM because that’s what this place really is. Jyima, the owner, is by far the best coach I’ve ever trained with. I use the word coach because Jyima is more than a personal/physical trainer. He is a life coach, who is dedicated to the self-care and self-love of all his memebers.
The best part of The Jyim is that Jyima is not the only gem to be found. The entire team: Angie, Sophia, Emily, Lee, and Erica, are AMAZING! They are dedicated to my goals and they hold me accountable while providing tips and tools to help me reach my goal. Their attention to detail and knowledge of physical and mental condition is one of the aspects that makes them stand out from other gyms. However, what truly makes them different is that they all CARE. Like really care. But don’t take my word (review) for it, try them! You...
