I really wanted to love my experience here, but was very disappointed. When I arrived at my appointment, I waited for over an hour in a clearly overbooked salon. One woman washed my hair while my stylist, Suzi, was busy with other patrons. I kept trying to show her multiple photos and videos of exactly the cut I wanted, and specified repeatedly that I didn't want layers. When she was finally ready to cut my hair, she spent a grand total of about 15 minutes cutting my hair (again, after I waited for over an hour), and I cannot stress how disappointed again with the cut. She cut layers completely throughout my hair, refused to acknowledge where I part my hair to make it even, and was incredibly dismissive when I kept interrupting her to tell her I didn't want layers (stating "don't worry, they won't show when it's styled" - spoiler alert - they did). She again left someone else to style my hair and sent me on my way with hair that was partially wet and returned to it's natural curls within about an hour. When I straightened my hair the following day, the layers were SO prominent I couldn't believe it. I called the salon and asked if I could come in to have her fix it, and they told me to come in at the designated time. When I arrived, no one had told Suzi I had called or would be coming, and again had to wait for about 30 minutes before she spent 10 minutes fixing my hair and gaslighting me about saying I didn't want layers. It's been about 3 weeks, and I still cannot wear my hair either in my natural curls or straight because of how choppy the layers are, even after the repair cut. I'm really not normally inclined to leave negative reviews, but was so sincerely disappointed here, and now have to spend the money to have the layers mitigated at another salon and pay for another haircut less than a month after this one. If you are looking for a stylist that gives you the time you feel you deserve or pays any attention to your own requests as opposed to ignoring you, please...
Read moreService done in February and posting now after taking time to fully understand and reflect on the experience.
I paid $650 for a balayage with Angel, including a $50 color correction. She warned results might not be as light due to prior box dye. I agreed, understanding the limitations and trusting her professional advice.
During the process, I noticed some unusual and messy application techniques, like using a squirt bottle to apply color while I was seated upright. This caused dye to drip into my ear and onto my neck. Though I found this unprofessional, I stayed quiet and focused on the results, trusting her method.
After styling, I noticed that the left side of my hair looked noticeably lighter. I mentioned this to Angel, but she said it was just the salon lighting. I trusted her and left the salon, even tipping $100. However, once I got home and saw my hair in natural light, it was clear the color was uneven.
I submitted a review through the salonâs system, but received no follow up, and later called to request a correction. When I returned, Angel opened with âSo I read your review,â and questioned if I had looked at my hair in different lighting, condescending and dismissive as if I hadnât.
She took me to the wash station (without even raising the leg rest), then colored my entire head darker. After a partial blow dry, she asked if I âfelt betterâ, as if the issue was emotional, not technical. While the color looked more even, it was now just darker overall, missing the original goal of a light balayage.
I wonât be returning to Angel or this salon. The service was overpriced, the result disappointing, and the stylistâs attitude unprofessional when faced with...
Read moreI came to this salon specifically because they specialize in balayage. I have dark brown hair and showed examples of caramel tonesâunderstanding results can vary. I chose this place over my regular salon (which only does highlights) because I believed their balayage expertise would help me get closer to that sun-kissed look.
I was quoted $450, but once in the chair, I was told balayage wasnât possible due to my hair length and that weâd have to do highlights instead. I clearly said I did not want orange, copper, or red tones. As the stylist foiled my hair, she mentioned that because my hair is so dark and previously dyed, it may not lift enoughâa concern that really shouldâve been explored with a strand test before we started.
After sitting there from 10:30 to 3:00, I left with chocolate brown hair that gives off reddish, cinnamon tones in the sunâthe exact tones I asked to avoid. The stylist then told me Iâd need to repeat this process three to four times to get to the look I wanted. If I had been told that up front, I would have postponed or made an informed decision. Even just saying, âCome back in four months and weâll plan a full process,â would have been better than moving forward with false expectations. The way my hair was blow dried and styled was seriously embarrassing- when I got home my husband asked why I hadnât got my honey hair as he called it- i got emotionalâŠ
The co-owner kindly didnât charge me for the haircut $80 (which I actually liked), and the staff were friendlyâbut I canât help feeling gipped. I trusted the process based on their balayage reputation, but for $460, I didnât get the look I asked for or the...
