Hillsong Church LA — Local services in Los Angeles

"A healthy church changing lives through Christ." Haha nope. Not a healthy place. A better title would be : A church lead by a young generation of wannabe Christ-followers trying their best to cater to the Elites in Los Angeles to promote their brand of Christianity" This is a Very Industry - Focused Church because the lead pastors pride themselves on them being able to disciple well known actresses, actors, etc. If you are not a holder of some kind of title then you will never get into small groups let alone invited anywhere. Felt like such a lonely place from the several years I spent at City Market Social & LA River Studios. One of the lead pastors actually yelled at me one morning cause I did not do something right when setting up. Their spies followed me home several times and became passive aggressive when I reported it. I served their on teams several times and no one on staff and none of the lead pastors couldn't even be bothered to visit me when I was very ill in the hospital ( I actually was visited by other churches haha but none of these fake christian barbies). What a fake place with very fake 'presence - focused' Narccissistic lead pastors. If you don't have a title then you are simply not worth being discipled or pastored. I noticed that in the way they treat people with titles in the industry who attend their services. Found a much more supportive church community on the other side of town. Enough promoting these toxic LA church environments they have nothing to offer but Christ 'fans' (not followers) with a touch...

Amazing church experience with a fabulous core group of volunteers. People made me feel like part of the church from the get go. I really miss the crew! I've moved a little further away but as soon as I'm able to I will be attending the evening services again. Their services are at 10am 12am 6pm and 8pm so no excuses to miss church people! You can fit it into your busy schedule easily.

The women's evening was one of the best services I have ever attended EVER and will remain in my heart for many years to come (I think its 1 evening a month). Just thinking about it alone gives me goosebumps. Being in the room with all those sisters singing their hearts out was unreal beyond words and overwhelmingly healing. I wondered maybe that's what heaven will be like all the beautiful souls singing and praising.

They have a connect group after the morning and 12 service where you can meet other new attendees and introduce yourself. After 4 weeks you can join the team of volunteers. When I came to LA I was so shy, didnt want to speak anyone but this soon changed because the volunteers made me feel so welcome as if i was returning home so i was able to open up and share...

We have been huge Hillsong Worship fans and were so excited to be in a California so we could attend a service. We were surprised when we entered the auditorium at the downtown LA location the smell was not good. We understand it was an old building though. As people started entering and the worship team started singing, the overwhelming smell of weed was ridiculous and not what you would expect at church. Two of the four of our group were recovering addicts and it was so strong and wasn’t going away or lightening after the 4-5 worship songs so we decided to leave at that point. I understand that it’s legal in California, but you don’t except people to be drinking or drunk at church, just as we didn’t expect to get a contact high at church. This isn’t Hillsong’s fault, and they did ask us as we were all walking out of there was something they could do. We absolutely loves the worship and the prayer that we did get to see and were disappointed to not be able to hear the whole service. We hope Hillsong can obtain a better location and accommodate everyone in recovery and still using. For now, we maybe watch...
