My coworkers and I have made a habit of coming here every Thursday, as we work just up the block and have a nice little walk with whoever is joining that day.
Most their food is real good, and the side window makes online orders real handy to pick up. That said, I have to say their vegetarian sandwich option (not the vegan , haven't tried yet) is ... Fine. It's not good it's just adequate. The contents are about 50% shredded lettuce, 30% sprouts, with all other ingredients being the remaining 20%, which results in a pretty bland flavor. I may be spoiled by the genuinely amazing vegetarian options over at Bubs, but maybe the Heights can experiment and create something new.
I will also say, one day a coworker and I got the chicken Parm and... That one was more meh. Could have been the day, but it was a dry chicken that had great breading flavor with a sauce that was powerful and something about those three things just wasn't doing it for us.
That said, the pepper sausage option is AMAZING and just the right punch of flavors. One coworker swears by the eggplant Parm. My absolute go to is the tuna salad salad. The balance of the tuna salad mix on the Italian dressed salad is just satisfying.
Most the subs I get here are genuinely good, but once and I while I just don't want meat and ... I think next time I'd probably go to...
Read moreOkay. Only leaving a review here on the off chance that the folks at The Heights will read it. I've had two Pastrami sandwiches from them and a friend has tried a couple options as well. The flavor, value, and size of these sandwiches is A+... however.... the bread is burnt? Falling apart? Crumbling everywhere? By the time you are halfway through everything kind of falls out everywhere. I thought it was a fluke the first time I had it but I have a decent enough sample size now to just be confused. If they ever choose to upgrade the bread situation this would be easily one of the best sandwiches in LA. I'll definitely return cause like I said, flavors are great and value is awesome, but I feel like this would be an everyday choice for me if it weren't so structurally compromised. Maybe I'm ignorant or something I have no idea, but it's almost so incredible that I want them to get it...
Read moreThis place is the spot! I’ve tried most of their menu now but now I keep coming back for the heights sandwich and the mozzarella sticks. The marinara is fire. I even dip my sandwich in it when I’m done with the sticks. My girlfriend ordered the antipasto salad this time and she ate it over the course of 3 days that’s how big it was for her. I even had a couple of bites. I’m also a fan of the garlic shrimp pasta. I don’t think there is anything I have disliked from here. Friendly staff. I usually call ahead. The only thing that is a con which is out of their control is the parking lot. It can get busy because of the gas station and the...
