Great place to live⌠with one major catch. The apartments are massive, with hardwood-style vinyl flooring on the first floor and partially on the 2nd and 3rd floors, which I know from touring the other units. Parking is entirely underground (a luxury in itself), there are two elevators, a gym, recreation room, pool, and four ChargePoint electric vehicle charging stations.
I moved in back in April, and by now, I can sayâthis place has a ton going for it. Before we get to the deal-breaking annoyance, hereâs the good:
Package Lockers: UPS/Amazon lockers for secure deliveries.
Non-Smoking Building: No smoking or vaping inside. I vape myself, but honestly, itâs cleaner this way.
Pet Friendly: Residents actually clean up after their pets.
Indoor Entrances: Keeps it cooler and prevents pests.
Daily Cleaning Crew: Hallways, laundry rooms, and stairwells are spotless.
Friendly Neighbors: People are kind but keep to themselves.
Close to CSUN: Perks like Spectrum promotions.
Onsite Managers Who Actually Respond : Jennifer is incredible, and Ashley has always been professional and kind.
Tandem Parking: Easy to navigateâno divider walls.
Gym: Small but fully equipped with new machines.
New Upgrades: Pool area and outer walls recently redone.
Laundry Rooms Everywhere: Multiple on each floorânever a wait.
Now for the ugly truth. If youâre unlucky enough to live under certain neighbors, prepare to lose your sanity. I can hear everythingâand I mean everythingâfrom above. Footsteps? Like theyâre wearing tap shoes. Dropped objects? Sounds like a bowling alley. And then thereâs their dogâdoing 6 a.m. zoomies like itâs training for the Olympics.
Iâm convinced they never remove their shoes, and I can literally tell male from female by the heel strikes. This isnât just âa little noiseââthis is daily, relentless pounding that wakes you up whether you want it or not. My suspicion? They missed putting proper soundproof underlayment during flooring installation, which means impact noise travels straight into my ceiling. But I'm stuck with it now, not like they can put the dampening foam down now with Tennants in there.
Iâve reported it. Management addressed it, but the problem persists. For a few days after, it even felt like the neighbors deliberately made more noiseâbanging, stompingâjust to make a point, so i haven't notified them again.
If youâre on the top floor? Youâll probably think this place is perfect. If youâre below people like mine? Earplugs, noise machines, and patience will become your daily survival kit.
Fantastic amenities, great management, and an unbeatable locationâbut the upstairs noise situation is severe enough that it overshadows everything else for me.
I see some other lady's comment any the dirty apattment that is sad to hear. Ours was perfect, some minor stuff but that's life. If I was her I would have just cleaned it up. I mean seriously lady it's just dirt and dust, get over it. Also I have met Ashley, I don't see her saying anything like that, maybe your kid...
Read moreI hate it here. The leasing staff couldnât be less equipped to manage relationships with tenants. Itâs easy to be nice when youâre trying to lure prospective tenants but once that application is filled out, the customer service is out the door.
Some of my issues include my apartment not being in move in condition on my move in date. Hard to reschedule when you procured services from a moving company and thereâs a three hour requirement for hiring them. I was then confronted by Ashley about moving in when the apartment wasnât ready. What was I supposed to do? Tell the movers to go home, nevermind come back in a week? What was I supposed to tell my previous landlord? Instead of Ashley being respectful and sympathetic about getting a filthy apartment, she was aggressive and confrontational before I even got the chance to show her new pictures of new damage I was finding throughout the apartment. She stood up from her desk to get closer to me, it felt like an intimidation tactic.
Days later, my daughter overhears the maintenance manager talking to someone in the office about my unit and stated that if i kept having issues then I was going to have real issues. Why is the support team upset with me over not doing a walk through of the unit before handing me the keys?
I canât get my mailbox key becuase I canât sign off on the apartment condition until the repairs are made. My apartment had drywall dust in the stove, thick layers of dirt on the baseboards, cabinets. It was gross when you got up close to the spaces once I started unpacking.
There is one working elevator and there is no ETA as to when the second elevator with be fixed. This is a three story building, one elevator is not enough. The elevator gets jammed at certain times of the day.
I canât wait until my lease is up. This place is terrible and donât get me started on the laundry room and the payment method. The machine wonât read my laundry card and charges me double then I gotta get on the phone to get a $6...
Read moreAs you search for a place to call home and your eyes glaze over these words, know that what you're about to read is an unbiased-honest review of Lassen Village.
I chose Lassen Village over other complexes because of the ease in the application process and availability.
When I met with the landlord, Ashley, she accommodated my needs and showed me a comparable apartment that would be available the following week. I asked my questions and soon found myself completing the paperwork to rent.
Within minutes, I was approved. No hassle. No fuss. Just pure uninhibited customer service and a new place to call home.
Now, in the midst of my second term, I've gotten to know the staff and management at Lassen. When I need something fixed inside the apartment the handy 1-800 number relays my maintenance requests to the appropriate personnel.
The close proximity of CSUN doesn't detract from the pleasant nature of the complex. Are there young kids running amuck every weekend? No. Are there keggers and scantily clad people lining the pool? No. This isn't Vegas, although I wouldn't mind đ. Lassen Village is a petty decent place to live.
Are there things that may irritate you from time to time that management can't control? Sure, but it's no different than owning a home and having pets defecate on your lawn or a neighbor park in front of your house for days on end.
I don't know how much more a tenant can ask for in terms of respectable living conditions. With a landlord like Ashley in charge, rest assured Lassen Village is a rental property I gladly endorse to anyone searching for a place...
