I bought Blue, a Royal Enfield C500 few years ago and right away I knew she was a keeper. As time went by, I did not ride with her as much then came a time when she was sitting there for months on end. Before I knew it, two years went by.
I'm so happy that my lovely girlfriend decided it was her turn to straddle a motorcycle and I couldn't think of a better partner for her to practice with, than Blue. So I went ahead and made the call to get her back on the road. I came upon the wonderful reviews for Melrose Moto a few days ago and it was a no brainer to reach out to them and get this going.
I was helped by Emmet and Chris who helped me setup an appointment to bring Blue in. I dropped her off this past Friday morning and by 3PM, i had an estimate as well as the amount of time it'd take to get Blue going. I went by the next morning to pick her up. Chris had done a full inspection, flushed out the fluids, given her a full cleaning and even topped off her gas tank! The gang at Melrose Moto is super professional and yet laidback and very friendly.
Kelsie and I went to get Blue but we ended up with Kelsie purchasing a beautiful Scorpion leather riding jacket and a Melrose Moto tee. Ha! What a fun morning it was! Ray kept us company on the retail side as we spent some time chatting and learning a few new things about riding gear and motorcycles.
A big shoutout to the gang @ Melrose Moto for getting Blue all setup and ready to go! Please visit them and give them an opportunity to earn your business! You'll be absolutely delighted and satisfied with the workmanship and...
Read moreI bought a used VFR in good condition with ~20k miles...after riding for a couple months, I realized it needed some TLC. Another guy I rented from on twisted road recommended the shop, so I gave them a call. I spoke to Chris a couple times on the phone to discuss the work I wanted done and he was great at communicating what parts he thought I needed and discussing scheduling.
When my appointment came around, I go to start the bike to ride over and the battery is dead! I had a big trip planned in a few days so we scrambled to get a battery, and the shop was great about slotting me into the schedule once I could bring the bike in.
The bike needed more work than I thought, but Chris was great about splitting out the costs for each individual item so I could decide what I wanted to proceed with. I never felt any pressure to pay for services I didn't need. They even have this invoice management system where they can send you pics of your worn parts (e.g. brake pads) so you can decide whether you want to proceed w/replacement or not.
Once the work was complete, I rode the bike for a bit and wanted Chris to double check something - they had me come by the next day and confirm everything was good (note: if you have a hydraulically actuated clutch, there is very little room for lever adjustment even if you have an adjustable lever ;-)
Great shop, great ppl - highly...
Read moreAfter moving back home to LA from SF with my Ducati SuperSport S in tow, I made the mistake of choosing a local branded Ducati dealership to service my motorcycle. It was from that terrible experience that I moved on and found Melrose Moto. From my first phone call there, which was answered by a friendly, straightforward and welcoming guy by the name of Chris, to now two years later, I have had the same consistently great experience. Chris is communicative, tells you what you will need, what you won’t need and is straightforward about cost. He keeps you informed along the way and has always gone above and beyond what was expected of him. As long as I live in LA, which I plan on being a lifer having grown up here, Melrose Moto will be where I take my motorcycles. I’ve tried many different shops over the years having lived all over CA, but none can beat the experience that Chris and the team offer at Melrose Moto. I could not...
