I was on vacation with my brothers and had just finished eating at a restaurant nearby. I saw Obsessed and mentioned to them I wanted to check it out. They headed to the shop before I did and soon after they entered I saw them being escorted out by this older lady. The door was closed. They told me that they were told the shop would re-open after getting through a task the lady needed to get done for her boss . Still wanting to find a piece of jewelry for myself I went to check if it was open--it was not. As I stood by the door the lady waved her hands as of to say go away and shook her head no . I thought she might have not yet finished what she was doing for her boss so I waited patiently out front. As I stood waiting nearby, I then saw another lady (white) approaching. The older lady in the store opened the door for that white lady and then immediately locked it . When I stood there in confusion to the abruptness of her action she just stood there as if embarrassed that her lie had been exposed and finally had no choice but to speak to me. She opened the door only a few inches to nervously tell me I couldn’t come in without an appointment as if I we’re going to try and break in..
When I confronted her by saying that it seemed she had been racially profiling my brothers and I (based on the fact that she wouldn’t even open the door to explain how shopping at her establishment worked) she just continued to say "no no that’s not it" as if she were scared. She then said "if you want to come in call the store" then closed the door on me not giving me time to even ask questions about the products being sold or services...
Read moreMe and my cousin were visiting the beach near this store and decided to get some fish tacos at a restaurant nearby. After our dinner we decided to walk around and visit nearby shops. We stopped at this shop to see the jewelry they had for sale. As soon as I walked in the lady who worked there told us that she had to close the shop up for a bit. (With a nervous shaky voice). When we asked how long , she responded by saying "just for a bit" when I asked how much a bit was she didn't reply as she walked us out. At no time did she mention anything about an appointment ,but about 20 minutes later she let another lady (who was white) enter the shop. At this point me and my cousins were confused. My girl cousin walked up to the door seeking more information and she was told that you could only shop there with an appointment; although there was no information about making appointments on their site or on any of their flyers. I would not recommend spending your hard earned money in this establishment who's owner is an ignorant person. I hope this review helps her realize that she cannot treat people a certain way just because of...
Read moreWe just got racially profiled . When I walked into the shop (which was open) the owner up front was telling me that she had to close up for a bit because her boss told her to do something . I left to my car to wait since my girlfriend really likes that type of jewelry. I then saw another lady who walked up to the shop. Once she walked to the front , the owner went and opened the door for her. I walked to the front again and the owner looked at me , smirked and shook her head. She then ignored me up front with the locked door. She told my sister who also tried going in that you need an appointment to go into the store. When I tried calling , she immediately hung up and laughed. I would not support this business if you are against racism. I felt so upset that I wanted to cry... feeling racially profiled always...
