Palisades Village — Local services in Los Angeles

This has nothing to do with political alligiance and contains no undertones as it relates to Mr. Caruso and his decision to run for public office and the positions he supports. This only has to do with the fact that this Giagantic, reproduced, unoriginal, often replicated (every Caruso Project), trite POS has furthered the destruction of a town that was at one point a nice place to grow up.

It is the essence of everthing that's wrong with today's modern society. It embodies every cliche. It is the instagram of shopping centers. You have minimum wage earning store clerks eating $40 lunches at E-won and the pack of blond cougars drinking $100 of wine at a routine lunch eating mediocre food and then driving carpool. Yes that happens and it happens daily. I dislike it so much I have not yet been inside the souless compound out of respect for my own convictions; towns need to remain true to their roots. That is what makes towns great. The Palisades was notorioous for having medium/ bad food, and no one went there for dinner. That's the charm of the place. If you want good food you've got to travel - west hollywood, sawtelle, Brentwood, some of santa monia. Yes old things can be imporoved and yes all of the terrible dining in the palisades needed to be replaced but for hevans' sake there is a reason I choose not to live in Calabasas or Irvine or Tustin. I do not want to live on a movie set. Everytime I drive by I cringe and remember the good times like BENTON'S SPORTING GOODS, 31 FLAVORS, MORTS, THE CANDY GARDEN, THE MOBILE MART.

As a comunity we have lost our way. I'm not a luddite rather, I am a guy born and raised in Santa Monica and the Palisades and it pains me to see our great little town go corporate. Sorry I...

The new development was not a good idea. Although it is really pretty and the shops are nice, it still lacks lots of things. Caruso does not understand The Palisades that much at all. In our town we do not need ten overpriced women’s clothing stores. There are also no stores for tweens and teens and for the age group that fits the existing stores, most people cannot afford it anyway. The restaurants are pretty good. Hank’s burgers are kind of greasy though. Porta Via gets the Palisades more than any other place in the development. We had a very nice time there and the food was good. Vintage grocers has good food too, but it is smaller than most grocery stores. The movie theater is nice and See’s candies is cool, but otherwise It is kind of boring. Overall, I think going to Caruso is a waste of time and money. Written by an 11 year old boy and an 11...

Even though this is the capital of all things bougie on the westside, I really enjoy the clean, well-manicured shopping environment. There aren't many affordable retailers here, but it's a fun place to walk around and grab a coffee or ice cream. It was also really fun to walk around here during Christmas, because it was decorated from limb to limb with festive garlands, lights and wreathes.

A highlight in Palisades Village is the Amazon Books store on the corner of Swarthmore, because I can return any products here without packaging. It's been such an easy and efficient way to return things to Amazon that didn't work out.
